This rule enforces always verifying SSL certificates for methods in the Requests library. In version 23.7.4.0, certificates are validated by default, which is the desired behavior. |
| twitch-tui provides Twitch chat in a terminal. Prior to version 2.4.1, the connection is not using TLS for communication. In the configuration of the irc connection, the software disables TLS, which makes all communication to Twitch IRC servers unencrypted. | Feedbacksystem is a personalized feedback system for students using artificial intelligence. Passwords of users using LDAP login are stored in clear text in the database. The LDAP users password is passed unencrypted in the LoginController.scala and stored in the database when logging in for the first time. Users using only local login or the cas login are not affected. This issue has been patched in version 1.19.2.

The VPN client insecurely configures the operating system such that all IP traffic to the VPN server's IP address is sent in plaintext outside the VPN tunnel, even if this traffic is not generated by the VPN client, while simultaneously using plaintext DNS to look up the VPN server's IP address. This allows an adversary to trick the victim into sending traffic to arbitrary IP addresses in plaintext outside the VPN tunnel.
