CVE-2026-70652 2026-08-20 N/A
libvips is a fast image processing library with low memory needs. Prior to version 8.18.3, libvips built with libultrahdr support can incorrectly size an output buffer in libvips/foreign/uhdrsave.c within vips_foreign_save_uhdr_set_raw_hdr when a pipeline enlarges an incoming JPEG to a very large output before encoding a gain map through VipsForeignSaveUhdr. The undersized allocation can cause a heap buffer over-read that may disclose adjacent data or crash the process. This issue is fixed in version 8.18.3.
CVE-2026-69242 2026-08-20 N/A
libvips is a fast image processing library with low memory needs. Prior to version 8.18.3, a crafted many-band TIFF processed through VipsForeignLoadTiff can evade scanline validation in libvips/iofuncs/image.c and cause an integer overflow in vips_image_sanity. The resulting buffer-region calculation can access attacker-controlled negative offsets in mmap-resident allocations, allowing reads or writes of other image data, possible data disclosure through uncompressed .v output, and likely process crashes. Remote code execution has not been demonstrated but cannot be ruled out. This issue is fixed in version 8.18.3.
CVE-2026-77640 1 Torproject 1 Tor 2026-08-20 3.7 Low
tor before 0.4.9.9 was prone to an infinite loop when decompressing a truncated zlib/gzip stream with done=1. A truncated stream never reaches Z_STREAM_END, causing zlib to return Z_BUF_ERROR with no input remaining, which buf_add_compress() mistook for a full output buffer and retried forever. Fixed by returning TOR_COMPRESS_ERROR in that case so the caller can abort cleanly. This is TROVE-2026-021.
CVE-2026-76022 2026-08-20 N/A
Buffer overflow in Network in Google Chrome prior to 151.0.7922.173 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
CVE-2026-18420 2 Aws, Opensearch 2 Amazon Opensearch Service, Opensearch Dashboards 2026-08-20 8.8 High
Improper input validation in the Time Series Visual Builder (TSVB) plugin in OpenSearch Dashboards allows an authenticated remote user to execute arbitrary code on the server via a crafted JSON payload to the metrics visualization API endpoint. This issue is a form of prototype pollution that enables remote code execution.  To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to OpenSearch Dashboards 3.8 or later.
CVE-2026-14474 1 Redhat 9 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Openshift and 6 more 2026-08-20 8.8 High
A flaw was found in SSSD's LDAP sudo provider. When the ldap_sudo_search_base option is not explicitly configured, SSSD searches the entire LDAP directory tree for sudoRole objects. An authenticated attacker with write access to any subtree can inject a sudoRole object granting root-level sudo privileges on all SSSD-enrolled hosts.
CVE-2026-53587 1 Libgit2 1 Libgit2 2026-08-20 7.5 High
libgit2 is a portable C implementation of the Git core methods provided as a linkable library with a solid API, allowing to build Git functionality into your application. Prior to 1.8.6 and 1.9.5, libgit2 performs a fixed-size strncmp in set_data in src/libgit2/transports/smart_pkt.c without first verifying that the smart-protocol pkt-line capability buffer contains 14 bytes. A malicious Git server can make bytes after the pkt-line complete object-format=, causing format_str to advance beyond the pkt-line and the following memchr length calculation to underflow. The resulting heap out-of-bounds walk can crash a client during the first refs-advertisement packet over HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, or the Git protocol. This issue is fixed in versions 1.8.6 and 1.9.5.
CVE-2026-77148 1 Comfast 1 Cf-n1-s 2026-08-20 9.9 Critical
A vulnerability was found in Comfast CF-N1-S 2.6.0.1. This impacts the function sub_44B50C of the file /cgi-bin/mbox-config?method=SET&section=ptest_channel of the component Web Management. The manipulation results in stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used.
CVE-2026-63384 2026-08-20 N/A
Libevent is an event notification library. Prior to 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, libevent has an incorrect integer conversion in event_tagging.c when evtag_unmarshal_header uses evtag_decode_int to decode an attacker-controlled uint32 payload length and returns it as a signed int. Values above INT_MAX become negative or truncated, and evtag_unmarshal_string can use the converted value in allocation sizing, producing a wrapped large allocation request and denial of service. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha.
CVE-2026-54616 1 M2team 1 Nanazip 2026-08-20 7.1 High
NanaZip is the 7-Zip derivative intended for the modern Windows experience. From version 1.0.88.0 until stable version 6.0.1698.0 and preview version 6.5.1742.0, the Lz4Decode function in NanaZip.Core/SevenZip/CPP/7zip/Archive/SquashfsHandler.cpp rejects only a zero return from LZ4_decompress_safe even though malformed input produces a negative error value. The negative int is converted to the unsigned SizeT destLen and then truncated into outBufWasWrittenSize, causing ReadBlock to trust an attacker-inflated _cachedUnpackBlockSize. During fragment extraction, an attacker-controlled inode Offset can make memcpy read beyond the _cachedBlock heap allocation and place adjacent heap contents in the extracted file, or crash the process. This issue is fixed in stable version 6.0.1698.0 and preview version 6.5.1742.0.
CVE-2026-74988 1 Mozilla 2 Firefox, Thunderbird 2026-08-20 9.8 Critical

Buffer overflow in Dawn in Google Chrome on on Android prior to 151.0.7922.169 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical)
CVE-2026-76641 2026-08-20 7.5 High
Expat through 2.8.3 contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that allows attackers to trigger memory corruption by processing XML with external entity parsers created via XML_ExternalEntityParserCreate. A struct size mismatch between ELEMENT_TYPE members causes storeAtts to read the attIndex member past allocated memory boundaries, resulting in failure to normalize whitespace in non-CDATA attributes or a wild pointer dereference causing a segfault. This vulnerability was introduced by the fix for CVE-2026-66046.
CVE-2026-73890 1 Oracle 1 Helidon 2026-08-20 7.5 High
Vulnerability in the Helidon product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Imperative Web Server). The supported version that is affected is 4.5.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP/2 to compromise Helidon. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of Helidon. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.5 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).
CVE-2026-72854 2026-08-20 5.3 Medium
msgpack_unpacker_expand_buffer in src/unpack.c, reached through the public msgpack_unpacker_reserve_buffer API, computes its new buffer size using an unchecked size_t addition of the requested size and the amount already used. The doubling loop guards its own multiplication against overflow, but the addition in the loop condition is unguarded, so a request near SIZE_MAX wraps: the loop condition is already satisfied, the allocation is performed at the small pre-wrap size, and the function returns true. The caller is told the requested capacity was reserved when it was not, so a subsequent write of the requested length overflows the heap buffer. The library's own example/lib_buffer_unpack.c demonstrates the reserve-then-write pattern, and its defensive assert comparing capacity against the request is compiled out under NDEBUG. msgpack-c's own decode entry points do not derive the reservation size from untrusted input, so reaching this requires an integration that passes an attacker-influenced length to the reservation API, such as a length-prefixed streaming transport.
CVE-2026-63383 2026-08-20 N/A
Libevent is an event notification library. Prior to 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, libevent can read beyond a contiguous evbuffer region in event_tagging.c when decode_tag_internal requests at most five bytes from evbuffer_pullup but iterates using the full logical buffer length. A fragmented evbuffer containing a six-byte malformed tag can therefore advance past the pullup window and trigger an out-of-bounds read, which can crash a process that decodes attacker-controlled tagged RPC data. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha.
CVE-2026-16885 1 Ibm 3 Aix, Powervm Vios, Vios 2026-08-20 9.8 Critical
IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code due to a stack buffer overflow.
CVE-2026-18303 1 Gimp 1 Gimp 2026-08-20 N/A
GIMP TIF File Parsing Stack-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GIMP. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of TIF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-29399.
