CVSS v3.1 |
| Substance3D - Modeler versions 1.22.0 and earlier are affected by an Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. If the application uses an uncontrolled search path to locate critical resources such as programs, an attacker could modify that search path to point to a malicious program, which the targeted application would then execute. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction. |
| Untrusted search path in certain Zoom Clients for Windows may allow an unauthenticated user to conduct an escalation of privilege via network access |
| NVIDIA Nsight Graphics for Windows contains a vulnerability in an ngfx component, where an attacker could cause a DLL highjacking attack. A successful exploit of this vulnerability may lead to code execution, escalation of privileges, data tampering, and denial of service. |
| An unquoted search path or element vulnerability has been reported to affect NetBak Replicator. If a local attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to execute unauthorized code or commands.
We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version:
NetBak Replicator 4.5.15.0807 and later |
| A local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the safe_asterisk script included with the Asterisk toolkit package. When Asterisk is started via this script (common in SysV init or FreePBX environments), it sources all .sh files located in /etc/asterisk/startup.d/ as root, without validating ownership or permissions.
Non-root users with legitimate write access to /etc/asterisk can exploit this behaviour by placing malicious scripts in the startup.d directory, which will then execute with root privileges upon service restart. |
| A potential security vulnerability has been identified in the HP Client Management Script Library software, which might allow escalation of privilege during the installation process. HP is releasing software updates to mitigate the potential vulnerability. |
| An Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability [CWE-427] in FortiClient Windows 7.4.0 through 7.4.3, 7.2.0 through 7.2.11, 7.0 all versions may allow a local low privileged user to perform a DLL hijacking attack via placing a malicious DLL to the FortiClient Online Installer installation folder. |
| Uncontrolled search path for some Intel(R) CIP software before version WIN_DCA_2.4.0.11001 within Ring 3: User Applications may allow an escalation of privilege. Unprivileged software adversary with an authenticated user combined with a high complexity attack may enable local code execution. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires active user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (high), integrity (high) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts. |
| Vim is an open source, command line text editor. Prior to version 9.1.1947, an uncontrolled search path vulnerability on Windows allows Vim to execute malicious executables placed in the current working directory for the current edited file. On Windows, when using cmd.exe as a shell, Vim resolves external commands by searching the current working directory before system paths. When Vim invokes tools such as findstr for :grep, external commands or filters via :!, or compiler/:make commands, it may inadvertently run a malicious executable present in the same directory as the file being edited. The issue affects Vim for Windows prior to version 9.1.1947. |
| A potential DLL hijacking vulnerability was discovered in the Lenovo PC Manager during an internal security assessment that could allow a local authenticated user to execute code with elevated privileges. |
| Untrusted search path in Windows Administrator Protection allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| FreePBX is an open-source web-based graphical user interface (GUI) that manages Asterisk. Prior to versions 16.0.45 and 17.0.24 of the FreePBX framework, an authenticated local privilege escalation exists in the deprecated FreePBX startup script `amportal`. In the deprecated `amportal` utility, the lookup for the `freepbx_engine` file occurs in `/etc/asterisk/` directories. Typically, these are configured by FreePBX as writable by the **asterisk** user and any members of the **asterisk** group. This means that a member of the **asterisk** group can add their own `freepbx_engine` file in `/etc/asterisk/` and upon `amportal` executing, it would exec that file with root permissions (even though the file was created and placed by a non-root user). Version 16.0.45 and 17.0.24 contain a fix for the issue. Other mitigation strategies are also available. Confirm only trusted local OS system users are members of the `asterisk` group. Look for suspicious files in the `/etc/asterisk/` directory (via Admin -> Config Edit in the GUI, or via CLI). Double-check that `live_dangerously = no` is set (or unconfigured, as the default is **no**) in `/etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf` file. Eliminate any unsafe custom use of Asterisk dial plan applications and functions that potentially can manipulate the file system, e.g., System(), FILE(), etc. |
| IBM Db2 for Windows 12.1.0 - 12.1.3 could allow a local user with filesystem access to escalate their privileges due to the use of an unquoted search path element. |
| NVIDIA Nsight Visual Studio for Windows contains a vulnerability in Nsight Monitor where an attacker can execute arbitrary code with the same privileges as the NVIDIA Nsight Visual Studio Edition Monitor application. A successful exploit of this vulnerability may lead to escalation of privileges, code execution, data tampering, denial of service, and information disclosure. |
| NVIDIA Nsight Systems for Windows contains a vulnerability in the application’s DLL loading mechanism where an attacker could cause an uncontrolled search path element by exploiting insecure DLL search paths. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, escalation of privileges, data tampering, denial of service and information disclosure. |

|
Dell SupportAssist for Home PCs version 3.14.1 and prior versions contain a privilege escalation vulnerability in the installer. A local low privileged authenticated attacker may potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to the execution of arbitrary executable on the operating system with elevated privileges.
|
| SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) - version 16.0, installation makes an entry in the system PATH environment variable in Windows platform which, under certain conditions, allows a Standard User to execute malicious Windows binaries which may lead to privilege escalation on the local system. The issue is with the ASE installer and does not impact other ASE binaries. |
| A weakness has been identified in PbootCMS up to 3.2.12. Impacted is an unknown function of the file /data/pbootcms.db of the component SQLite Database. Executing a manipulation can lead to files or directories accessible. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Attacks of this nature are highly complex. The exploitability is considered difficult. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. Modifying the configuration settings is advised. |
