XStream is a simple library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In affected versions this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to load and execute arbitrary code from a remote host only by manipulating the processed input stream. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. XStream 1.4.18 uses no longer a blacklist by default, since it cannot be secured for general purpose.

XStream is a simple library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In affected versions this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to allocate 100% CPU time on the target system depending on CPU type or parallel execution of such a payload resulting in a denial of service only by manipulating the processed input stream. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. XStream 1.4.18 uses no longer a blacklist by default, since it cannot be secured for general purpose.

CVE-2021-38153 4 Apache, Oracle, Quarkus and 1 more 15 Kafka, Communications Brm - Elastic Charging Engine, Communications Cloud Native Core Policy and 12 more 2024-08-04 5.9 Medium
Some components in Apache Kafka use `Arrays.equals` to validate a password or key, which is vulnerable to timing attacks that make brute force attacks for such credentials more likely to be successful. Users should upgrade to 2.8.1 or higher, or 3.0.0 or higher where this vulnerability has been fixed. The affected versions include Apache Kafka 2.0.0, 2.0.1, 2.1.0, 2.1.1, 2.2.0, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.0, 2.3.1, 2.4.0, 2.4.1, 2.5.0, 2.5.1, 2.6.0, 2.6.1, 2.6.2, 2.7.0, 2.7.1, and 2.8.0.
CVE-2021-37714 5 Jsoup, Netapp, Oracle and 2 more 24 Jsoup, Management Services For Element Software And Netapp Hci, Banking Trade Finance and 21 more 2024-08-04 7.5 High
jsoup is a Java library for working with HTML. Those using jsoup versions prior to 1.14.2 to parse untrusted HTML or XML may be vulnerable to DOS attacks. If the parser is run on user supplied input, an attacker may supply content that causes the parser to get stuck (loop indefinitely until cancelled), to complete more slowly than usual, or to throw an unexpected exception. This effect may support a denial of service attack. The issue is patched in version 1.14.2. There are a few available workarounds. Users may rate limit input parsing, limit the size of inputs based on system resources, and/or implement thread watchdogs to cap and timeout parse runtimes.
CVE-2021-33813 6 Apache, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more 10 Solr, Tika, Debian Linux and 7 more 2024-08-03 7.5 High
An XXE issue in SAXBuilder in JDOM through 2.0.6 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted HTTP request.
CVE-2021-31812 4 Apache, Fedoraproject, Oracle and 1 more 8 Pdfbox, Fedora, Banking Corporate Lending Process Management and 5 more 2024-08-03 5.5 Medium
In Apache PDFBox, a carefully crafted PDF file can trigger an infinite loop while loading the file. This issue affects Apache PDFBox version 2.0.23 and prior 2.0.x versions.
CVE-2021-31811 4 Apache, Fedoraproject, Oracle and 1 more 13 Pdfbox, Fedora, Banking Corporate Lending Process Management and 10 more 2024-08-03 5.5 Medium

A vulnerability in the JsonMapObjectReaderWriter of Apache CXF allows an attacker to submit malformed JSON to a web service, which results in the thread getting stuck in an infinite loop, consuming CPU indefinitely. This issue affects Apache CXF versions prior to 3.4.4; Apache CXF versions prior to 3.3.11.
CVE-2021-29505 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 3 more 23 Debian Linux, Fedora, Snapmanager and 20 more 2024-08-03 7.5 High
XStream is software for serializing Java objects to XML and back again. A vulnerability in XStream versions prior to 1.4.17 may allow a remote attacker has sufficient rights to execute commands of the host only by manipulating the processed input stream. No user who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types is affected. The vulnerability is patched in version 1.4.17.
CVE-2021-28163 6 Apache, Eclipse, Fedoraproject and 3 more 30 Ignite, Solr, Jetty and 27 more 2024-08-03 2.7 Low
In Eclipse Jetty 9.4.32 to 9.4.38, 10.0.0.beta2 to 10.0.1, and 11.0.0.beta2 to 11.0.1, if a user uses a webapps directory that is a symlink, the contents of the webapps directory is deployed as a static webapp, inadvertently serving the webapps themselves and anything else that might be in that directory.
CVE-2021-28169 5 Debian, Eclipse, Netapp and 2 more 14 Debian Linux, Jetty, Active Iq Unified Manager and 11 more 2024-08-03 5.3 Medium
For Eclipse Jetty versions <= 9.4.40, <= 10.0.2, <= 11.0.2, it is possible for requests to the ConcatServlet with a doubly encoded path to access protected resources within the WEB-INF directory. For example a request to `/concat?/%2557EB-INF/web.xml` can retrieve the web.xml file. This can reveal sensitive information regarding the implementation of a web application.
CVE-2021-28168 3 Eclipse, Oracle, Redhat 6 Jersey, Communications Cloud Native Core Policy, Communications Cloud Native Core Unified Data Repository and 3 more 2024-08-03 6.2 Medium
Eclipse Jersey 2.28 to 2.33 and Eclipse Jersey 3.0.0 to 3.0.1 contains a local information disclosure vulnerability. This is due to the use of the File.createTempFile which creates a file inside of the system temporary directory with the permissions: -rw-r--r--. Thus the contents of this file are viewable by all other users locally on the system. As such, if the contents written is security sensitive, it can be disclosed to other local users.

CVE-2021-28164 4 Eclipse, Netapp, Oracle and 1 more 23 Jetty, Cloud Manager, E-series Performance Analyzer and 20 more 2024-08-03 5.3 Medium
In Eclipse Jetty 9.4.37.v20210219 to 9.4.38.v20210224, the default compliance mode allows requests with URIs that contain %2e or %2e%2e segments to access protected resources within the WEB-INF directory. For example a request to /context/%2e/WEB-INF/web.xml can retrieve the web.xml file. This can reveal sensitive information regarding the implementation of a web application.
