CVE-2020-25718 2 Fedoraproject, Samba 2 Fedora, Samba 2024-08-04 8.8 High
A flaw was found in the way samba, as an Active Directory Domain Controller, is able to support an RODC (read-only domain controller). This would allow an RODC to print administrator tickets.
CVE-2020-25721 1 Samba 1 Samba 2024-08-04 8.8 High
Kerberos acceptors need easy access to stable AD identifiers (eg objectSid). Samba as an AD DC now provides a way for Linux applications to obtain a reliable SID (and samAccountName) in issued tickets.
CVE-2020-25719 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more 18 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 15 more 2024-08-04 7.2 High
A flaw was found in the way Samba, as an Active Directory Domain Controller, implemented Kerberos name-based authentication. The Samba AD DC, could become confused about the user a ticket represents if it did not strictly require a Kerberos PAC and always use the SIDs found within. The result could include total domain compromise.

A null pointer dereference flaw was found in samba's Winbind service in versions before 4.11.15, before 4.12.9 and before 4.13.1. A local user could use this flaw to crash the winbind service causing denial of service.
CVE-2020-14318 2 Redhat, Samba 3 Enterprise Linux, Storage, Samba 2024-08-04 4.3 Medium
A flaw was found in the way samba handled file and directory permissions. An authenticated user could use this flaw to gain access to certain file and directory information which otherwise would be unavailable to the attacker.
CVE-2020-14303 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 2 more 2024-08-04 7.5 High
A flaw was found in the AD DC NBT server in all Samba versions before 4.10.17, before 4.11.11 and before 4.12.4. A samba user could send an empty UDP packet to cause the samba server to crash.
CVE-2020-10760 4 Canonical, Fedoraproject, Opensuse and 1 more 4 Ubuntu Linux, Fedora, Leap and 1 more 2024-08-04 6.5 Medium
A use-after-free flaw was found in all samba LDAP server versions before 4.10.17, before 4.11.11, before 4.12.4 used in a AC DC configuration. A Samba LDAP user could use this flaw to crash samba.
CVE-2020-10745 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Opensuse and 1 more 4 Debian Linux, Fedora, Leap and 1 more 2024-08-04 7.5 High
A flaw was found in all Samba versions before 4.10.17, before 4.11.11 and before 4.12.4 in the way it processed NetBios over TCP/IP. This flaw allows a remote attacker could to cause the Samba server to consume excessive CPU use, resulting in a denial of service. This highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.
CVE-2020-10730 5 Debian, Fedoraproject, Opensuse and 2 more 6 Debian Linux, Fedora, Leap and 3 more 2024-08-04 6.5 Medium
A NULL pointer dereference, or possible use-after-free flaw was found in Samba AD LDAP server in versions before 4.10.17, before 4.11.11 and before 4.12.4. Although some versions of Samba shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux do not support Samba in AD mode, the affected code is shipped with the libldb package. This flaw allows an authenticated user to possibly trigger a use-after-free or NULL pointer dereference. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.
CVE-2020-10704 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Opensuse and 1 more 4 Debian Linux, Fedora, Leap and 1 more 2024-08-04 7.5 High
A flaw was found when using samba as an Active Directory Domain Controller. Due to the way samba handles certain requests as an Active Directory Domain Controller LDAP server, an unauthorized user can cause a stack overflow leading to a denial of service. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability. This issue affects all samba versions before 4.10.15, before 4.11.8 and before 4.12.2.
CVE-2020-10700 3 Fedoraproject, Opensuse, Samba 3 Fedora, Leap, Samba 2024-08-04 5.3 Medium
A use-after-free flaw was found in the way samba AD DC LDAP servers, handled 'Paged Results' control is combined with the 'ASQ' control. A malicious user in a samba AD could use this flaw to cause denial of service. This issue affects all samba versions before 4.10.15, before 4.11.8 and before 4.12.2.
CVE-2020-1472 9 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 6 more 20 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 17 more 2024-08-04 5.5 Medium
An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists when an attacker establishes a vulnerable Netlogon secure channel connection to a domain controller, using the Netlogon Remote Protocol (MS-NRPC). An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could run a specially crafted application on a device on the network. To exploit the vulnerability, an unauthenticated attacker would be required to use MS-NRPC to connect to a domain controller to obtain domain administrator access. Microsoft is addressing the vulnerability in a phased two-part rollout. These updates address the vulnerability by modifying how Netlogon handles the usage of Netlogon secure channels. For guidelines on how to manage the changes required for this vulnerability and more information on the phased rollout, see How to manage the changes in Netlogon secure channel connections associated with CVE-2020-1472 (updated September 28, 2020). When the second phase of Windows updates become available in Q1 2021, customers will be notified via a revision to this security vulnerability. If you wish to be notified when these updates are released, we recommend that you register for the security notifications mailer to be alerted of content changes to this advisory. See Microsoft Technical Security Notifications.
CVE-2021-44141 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, Samba 4 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Storage and 1 more 2024-08-04 4.3 Medium
All versions of Samba prior to 4.15.5 are vulnerable to a malicious client using a server symlink to determine if a file or directory exists in an area of the server file system not exported under the share definition. SMB1 with unix extensions has to be enabled in order for this attack to succeed.
CVE-2021-43566 2 Redhat, Samba 2 Enterprise Linux, Samba 2024-08-04 2.5 Low
All versions of Samba prior to 4.13.16 are vulnerable to a malicious client using an SMB1 or NFS race to allow a directory to be created in an area of the server file system not exported under the share definition. Note that SMB1 has to be enabled, or the share also available via NFS in order for this attack to succeed.
CVE-2021-23192 2 Redhat, Samba 4 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus, Storage and 1 more 2024-08-03 7.5 High
A flaw was found in the way samba implemented DCE/RPC. If a client to a Samba server sent a very large DCE/RPC request, and chose to fragment it, an attacker could replace later fragments with their own data, bypassing the signature requirements.
CVE-2021-20277 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Redhat and 1 more 8 Debian Linux, Fedora, Enterprise Linux and 5 more 2024-08-03 7.5 High
A flaw was found in Samba's libldb. Multiple, consecutive leading spaces in an LDAP attribute can lead to an out-of-bounds memory write, leading to a crash of the LDAP server process handling the request. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.
CVE-2021-20316 3 Debian, Redhat, Samba 8 Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus and 5 more 2024-08-03 6.8 Medium
A flaw was found in the way Samba handled file/directory metadata. This flaw allows an authenticated attacker with permissions to read or modify share metadata, to perform this operation outside of the share.
