Impact
The vulnerability exists in the Snapshot Policy component of the David-Crty databasement in versions up through 1.7.1. It allows an attacker who can reach the /api/v1/snapshots endpoint to invoke the SnapshotPolicy.viewAny or SnapshotPolicy.view functions without proper authorization checks. This results in the ability to read snapshot data that should be restricted, effectively providing a read‑only breach of confidentiality for database state. The weakness is categorized as CWE‑266 (Improper Privilege Management) and CWE‑284 (Improper Access Control).
Affected Systems
All released versions of the David-Crty databasement product up to 1.7.1 contain the flaw, specifically the Snapshot Model API handling snapshot requests. If your deployment is using a version prior to 1.7.2, it is affected.
Risk and Exploitability
The CVSS score of 5.3 indicates moderate severity. The EPSS score is not available, so current exploitation likelihood cannot be quantified. The flaw is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog. Attackers can exploit this remotely by sending HTTP requests to the vulnerable endpoint, and if the service is exposed to the internet they can easily retrieve snapshot information. Prompt patching mitigates the risk.
