Impact
The vulnerability is a use‑after‑free flaw in Chrome’s rendering engine that allows an attacker to cause the browser to execute code with privileges outside the usual sandbox. The flaw can be triggered by loading a specially crafted HTML page, giving the attacker the possibility to run arbitrary code on the device.
Affected Systems
Google Chrome for Android, any version earlier than 155.0.8059.79, including the default stable channel releases.
Risk and Exploitability
The CVSS score of 9.6 indicates a critical severity. The EPSS score of < 1% suggests a low likelihood of widespread exploitation at the moment, but the vulnerability is still listed as critical and is not currently in the CISA KEV catalog. The attack vector is inferred to be a remote web page or local file that is opened by the user, wherein the crafted content triggers the use‑after‑free. Once exploited, the attacker can execute code with elevated privileges outside the Chrome sandbox.
