Impact
A bug in the clipboard.readText function within the Renderer‑Process IPC Bridge of FFXIV Teamcraft allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts into the application's web context. This cross‑site scripting flaw can be executed remotely because the vulnerable code runs in the renderer process and processes data from the clipboard without proper sanitization. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary script execution, data theft or manipulation, and the compromise of the user's local system when the user interacts with the application.
Affected Systems
The flaw affects FFXIV Teamcraft versions up to 11.4.31. The vendor released a patch in version 11.4.32 that addresses the issue. The upstream commit identifier for the fix is def118fdf36f8f3b615966893a132dd81d9cc3dc.
Risk and Exploitability
The CVSS score of 5.1 indicates a medium severity. The EPSS score is not available, so the exact probability of exploitation is unknown, but the exploit has been publicly disclosed and is known to be usable. The flaw is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog. Because it can be triggered remotely via clipboard traffic, attackers may compromise affected installations if no patch is applied.
