Impact

A flaw in the Oracle Product Hub’s Item Catalog component allows a low‑privileged attacker who can reach the service over HTTP to create, delete, or modify critical items without proper authentication. The vulnerability, defined as improper authentication (CWE-306), results in confidentiality and integrity loss for all data visible through the Product Hub. It also permits an adversary to gain full access to the entire dataset exposed by the Product Hub.

Affected Systems

Oracle Product Hub of Oracle E‑Business Suite is impacted, specifically versions 12.2.3 through 12.2.15. Versions outside this range are not listed as affected.

Risk and Exploitability

The CVSS 3.1 base score is 8.1 for AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N, indicating that the issue is easily exploitable over the network and requires only low privileges with no user interaction. The EPSS score is less than 1%, suggesting that exploitation in the wild is expected to be low, and it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog. The likely attack vector is sending crafted HTTP requests that bypass normal authentication checks, allowing the attacker to alter or delete data and read sensitive information.

Remediation

No vendor fix or workaround currently provided.

OpenCVE Recommended Actions

  • Apply the Oracle patch released in the July 2026 CPU to update Oracle Product Hub to a version that fixes the vulnerability.
  • Restrict HTTP access to the Product Hub to trusted networks or IP ranges, and enforce strict firewall rules to limit external exposure.
  • Ensure that users have only the minimum permissions required for their roles and enable multi‑factor authentication for administrative accounts.
  • Monitor audit logs for unexpected creation or deletion of items in Product Hub and investigate any anomalies.
