Impact
An authenticated user can stop or create a savepoint for a task instance in a project they are not authorized to access, effectively bypassing project-level authorization controls. The flaw originates from the /dolphinscheduler/projects/{projectCode}/task‑instances/{taskInstanceId}/stop and /dolphinscheduler/projects/{projectCode}/task‑instances/{taskInstanceId}/savepoint endpoints, allowing the attacker to manipulate tasks in unauthorized projects.
Affected Systems
Apache DolphinScheduler, provided by the Apache Software Foundation. Versions prior to 3.4.3 are affected.
Risk and Exploitability
The vulnerability is exploitable through the HTTP API endpoints, so any authenticated user with network access to the DolphinScheduler server can perform unauthorized task operations. The CVSS score is 8.1, indicating a high severity vulnerability, while the EPSS score of less than 1% suggests a low probability of exploitation in the near term. This vulnerability is not listed in CISA KEV. Attackers can extend control to tasks and potentially disrupt workflows across projects, making the impact significant for systems that rely heavily on task isolation.
