Description
The Tables app's share-listing endpoint (GET /apps/tables/share/table/{tableId}) did not verify that the requesting user has manage-level permission on the table before returning the full list of share recipients (users, groups, and teams) along with their permission levels. A user who was only granted read-data access to a table, and who is correctly prevented from seeing this information in the web UI, could call the endpoint directly to enumerate everyone the table is shared with and their access levels.

This does not expose the table's data itself beyond what the read-data grant already permits, only the list of share recipients and their permission levels.

Impact

The vulnerability is the /apps/tables/share/table/{tableId} endpoint in Nextcloud Tables that returns the full list of share recipients and permission levels without checking that the caller has manage‑level access. A user with only read‑data rights can exploit this by making a GET request, thereby learning who the table is shared with and their privileges. This does not reveal the table contents itself but provides insight into collaboration relationships, potentially aiding social engineering or further attacks.

Affected Systems

Nextcloud Tables. No specific version range is given in the CVE, so all installations of the app are potentially impacted until the issue is fixed.

Risk and Exploitability

The CVSS base score of 3.3 signals a low impact. The EPSS score is not available, and the vulnerability is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog. The likely attack vector is an internal or compromised user having read‑data permission on a table and being able to issue an authenticated GET request to the endpoint. While the vulnerability is limited to disclosure of share metadata, it requires legitimate credentials, making it less attractive for external attackers.

Remediation

No solution or workaround provided in the CVE record.

OpenCVE Recommended Actions

  • Update Nextcloud Tables to a version that includes the permission check fix. Check vendor documentation for an official patch or release.
  • Review and tighten user permissions: remove read‑data access from users or groups that do not require it, especially for sensitive tables.
  • Restrict API access to the share‑listing endpoint by applying network segmentation or firewall rules so only trusted services or administrators can query share information.
