Impact
The vulnerability is an untrusted pointer dereference in the RPC Runtime component that permits an attacker who can send crafted RPC requests to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the RPC service. This flaw enables remote code execution, potentially allowing full compromise of the affected system.
Affected Systems
Microsoft Windows 10 versions 1607, 1809, 21H2, and 22H2; Windows 11 versions 23H2, 24H2, 25H2, 26H2 (and the related 26H1 release); Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025, including Server Core installations. The vulnerability applies to both x86 and x64 architectures as well as ARM64 for Windows 11.
Risk and Exploitability
The CVSS score of 8.8 indicates a high severity with broad impact. While the EPSS score is not reported, the overall risk remains high because the flaw is exploitable over the network via RPC services and does not require local privileges. The vulnerability is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog, but its nature suggests it could be actively exploited by adversaries. Immediate patching is strongly advised.
