Impact
A use‑after‑free flaw in Chrome's WindowDialog component allows an attacker to craft an HTML page that, if the user opens it, can execute arbitrary code beyond the browser sandbox. The vulnerability is a classic memory‑corruption issue (CWE-416) that enables remote code execution.
Affected Systems
All users of Google Chrome versions prior to 154.0.8037.57 running the stable channel are vulnerable. The flaw exists in the Desktop WebView component used by the browser.
Risk and Exploitability
With a CVSS score of 9.6, this vulnerability attains critical severity. Although the EPSS score is not publicly available, the lack of listing in the CISA KEV catalog does not diminish the potential impact. A remote attacker can exploit the flaw through social engineering, delivering a crafted web page that, when visited, triggers the use‑after‑free and executes code outside the browser sandbox.
