CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fbdev: udlfb: avoid divide-by-zero on FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO
Much like commit 19f953e74356 ("fbdev: fb_pm2fb: Avoid potential divide
by zero error"), we also need to prevent that same crash from happening
in the udlfb driver as it uses pixclock directly when dividing, which
will crash. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
staging: sm750fb: fix division by zero in ps_to_hz()
ps_to_hz() is called from hw_sm750_crtc_set_mode() without validating
that pixclock is non-zero. A zero pixclock passed via FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO
causes a division by zero.
Fix by rejecting zero pixclock in lynxfb_ops_check_var(), consistent
with other framebuffer drivers. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fbdev: tdfxfb: avoid divide-by-zero on FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO
Much like commit 19f953e74356 ("fbdev: fb_pm2fb: Avoid potential divide
by zero error"), we also need to prevent that same crash from happening
in the udlfb driver as it uses pixclock directly when dividing, which
will crash. |
| Firebird is an open-source relational database management system. In versions prior to 5.0.4, 4.0.7 and 3.0.14, the sdl_desc() function does not validate the length of a decoded SDL descriptor from a slice packet. A zero-length descriptor is later used to calculate the number of slice items, causing a division by zero. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending a crafted slice packet to crash the server. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.0.4, 4.0.7 and 3.0.14. |
| A client can trigger a divide by zero error leading to crash by sending a crafted DNSCrypt query. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: ets: fix divide by zero in the offload path
Offloading ETS requires computing each class' WRR weight: this is done by
averaging over the sums of quanta as 'q_sum' and 'q_psum'. Using unsigned
int, the same integer size as the individual DRR quanta, can overflow and
even cause division by zero, like it happened in the following splat:
Oops: divide error: 0000 [#1] SMP PTI

Fix this using 64-bit integers for 'q_sum' and 'q_psum'. |
| Media Player Classic 6.4.9.0 allows user-assisted remote attackers to cause a denial of service (web browser crash) via an "empty" .MPA file, which triggers a divide-by-zero error. |
| agent/snmp_agent.c in snmpd in net-snmp 5.0.9 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a crafted SNMP GETBULK request that triggers a divide-by-zero error. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incorrect fix for CVE-2008-4309. |
| Grisoft AVG Anti-Virus before 7.1.407 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted DOC file that triggers a divide-by-zero error. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information. |
| Microsoft Windows Graphics Device Interface (GDI+, GdiPlus.dll) allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via an ICO file with an InfoHeader containing a Height of zero, which triggers a divide-by-zero error. |
| The TFTP implementation in IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager for OS Deployment 5.1 before Fix Pack 3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (rembo.exe crash and multiple service outage) via a read (RRQ) request with an invalid blksize (blocksize), which triggers a divide-by-zero error. |
| An out-of-bounds write issue in the virtio PCI transport in Firecracker 1.13.0 through 1.14.3 and 1.15.0 on x86_64 and aarch64 might allow a local guest user with root privileges to crash the Firecracker VMM process or potentially execute arbitrary code on the host via modification of virtio queue configuration registers after device activation. Achieving code execution on the host requires additional preconditions, such as the use of a custom guest kernel or specific snapshot configurations.
To remediate this, users should upgrade to Firecracker 1.14.4 or 1.15.1 and later. |
| iccDEV provides a set of libraries and tools for working with ICC color management profiles. Prior to version 2.3.1.6, a crafted TIFF input can trigger Undefined Behavior (UB) due to division by zero in the TIFF handling code paths used by iccTiffDump. This issue has been patched in version 2.3.1.6. |
| iccDEV provides a set of libraries and tools that allow for the interaction, manipulation, and application of ICC color management profiles. Prior to version 2.3.1.2, iccDEV is vulnerable to division by zero in the TIFF Image Reader. This issue has been patched in version 2.3.1.2. |
| Out-of-bounds Write, Divide By Zero, NULL Pointer Dereference, Use of Uninitialized Resource, Out-of-bounds Read, Reachable Assertion vulnerability in cadaver turso3d.This issue affects . |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: sch_hfsc: fix divide-by-zero in rtsc_min()
m2sm() converts a u32 slope to a u64 scaled value. For large inputs
(e.g. m1=4000000000), the result can reach 2^32. rtsc_min() stores
the difference of two such u64 values in a u32 variable `dsm` and
uses it as a divisor. When the difference is exactly 2^32 the
truncation yields zero, causing a divide-by-zero oops in the
concave-curve intersection path:
Oops: divide error: 0000
RIP: 0010:rtsc_min (net/sched/sch_hfsc.c:601)
Call Trace:

Widen `dsm` to u64 and replace do_div() with div64_u64() so the full
difference is preserved. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 7.1.2-15 and 6.9.13-40, a logic error in YUV sampling factor validation allows an invalid sampling factor to bypass checks and trigger a division-by-zero during image loading, resulting in a reliable denial-of-service. Versions 7.1.2-15 and 6.9.13-40 contain a patch. |
| A weakness has been identified in ChaiScript up to 6.1.0. This affects the function chaiscript::Boxed_Number::go of the file include/chaiscript/dispatchkit/boxed_number.hpp. Executing a manipulation can lead to divide by zero. The attack requires local access. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. |
| Multiple Cisco products are affected by a vulnerability in the Snort 3 Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) feature which could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the Snort 3 Detection Engine to crash.
This vulnerability is due to lack of proper error checking when decompressing VBA data. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted VBA data to the Snort 3 Detection Engine on the targeted device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the Snort 3 Detection Engine to unexpectedly restart causing a a denial of service (DoS) condition. |
| Vulnerability in tif_dirread.c for libtiff allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a TIFF image that causes a divide-by-zero error when the number of row bytes is zero, a different vulnerability than CVE-2005-2452. |
