CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: rtw88: fix the 'para' buffer size to avoid reading out of bounds
Set the size to 6 instead of 2, since 'para' array is passed to
'rtw_fw_bt_wifi_control(rtwdev, para[0], ¶[1])', which reads
5 bytes:
void rtw_fw_bt_wifi_control(struct rtw_dev *rtwdev, u8 op_code, u8 *data)
{
...
SET_BT_WIFI_CONTROL_DATA1(h2c_pkt, *data);
SET_BT_WIFI_CONTROL_DATA2(h2c_pkt, *(data + 1));
...
SET_BT_WIFI_CONTROL_DATA5(h2c_pkt, *(data + 4));

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usb-audio: Fix out-of-bounds read in snd_usb_get_audioformat_uac3()
In snd_usb_get_audioformat_uac3(), the length value returned from
snd_usb_ctl_msg() is used directly for memory allocation without
validation. This length is controlled by the USB device.
The allocated buffer is cast to a uac3_cluster_header_descriptor
and its fields are accessed without verifying that the buffer
is large enough. If the device returns a smaller than expected
length, this leads to an out-of-bounds read.
Add a length check to ensure the buffer is large enough for
uac3_cluster_header_descriptor. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pinctrl: at91: Fix possible out-of-boundary access
at91_gpio_probe() doesn't check that given OF alias is not available or
something went wrong when trying to get it. This might have consequences
when accessing gpio_chips array with that value as an index. Note, that
BUG() can be compiled out and hence won't actually perform the required
checks. |
| Apache HTTP Server 2.4.53 and earlier may crash or disclose information due to a read beyond bounds in ap_strcmp_match() when provided with an extremely large input buffer. While no code distributed with the server can be coerced into such a call, third-party modules or lua scripts that use ap_strcmp_match() may hypothetically be affected. |
| libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in the xmlDictComputeFastKey function in dict.c. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash. This vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for libxml2 Bug 759398. |
| An out of bounds read flaw was discovered in libssh2 before 1.8.1 in the _libssh2_packet_require and _libssh2_packet_requirev functions. A remote attacker who compromises a SSH server may be able to cause a Denial of Service or read data in the client memory. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
kvm: avoid speculation-based attacks from out-of-range memslot accesses
KVM's mechanism for accessing guest memory translates a guest physical
address (gpa) to a host virtual address using the right-shifted gpa
(also known as gfn) and a struct kvm_memory_slot. The translation is
performed in __gfn_to_hva_memslot using the following formula:
hva = slot->userspace_addr + (gfn - slot->base_gfn) * PAGE_SIZE
It is expected that gfn falls within the boundaries of the guest's
physical memory. However, a guest can access invalid physical addresses
in such a way that the gfn is invalid.
__gfn_to_hva_memslot is called from kvm_vcpu_gfn_to_hva_prot, which first
retrieves a memslot through __gfn_to_memslot. While __gfn_to_memslot
does check that the gfn falls within the boundaries of the guest's
physical memory or not, a CPU can speculate the result of the check and
continue execution speculatively using an illegal gfn. The speculation
can result in calculating an out-of-bounds hva. If the resulting host
virtual address is used to load another guest physical address, this
is effectively a Spectre gadget consisting of two consecutive reads,
the second of which is data dependent on the first.
Right now it's not clear if there are any cases in which this is
exploitable. One interesting case was reported by the original author
of this patch, and involves visiting guest page tables on x86. Right
now these are not vulnerable because the hva read goes through get_user(),
which contains an LFENCE speculation barrier. However, there are
patches in progress for x86 uaccess.h to mask kernel addresses instead of
using LFENCE; once these land, a guest could use speculation to read
from the VMM's ring 3 address space. Other architectures such as ARM
already use the address masking method, and would be susceptible to
this same kind of data-dependent access gadgets. Therefore, this patch
proactively protects from these attacks by masking out-of-bounds gfns
in __gfn_to_hva_memslot, which blocks speculation of invalid hvas.
Sean Christopherson noted that this patch does not cover
kvm_read_guest_offset_cached. This however is limited to a few bytes
past the end of the cache, and therefore it is unlikely to be useful in
the context of building a chain of data dependent accesses. |

This issue can be reproduced with the following syzkaller log:
r0 = openat(0xffffffffffffff9c, &(0x7f0000000040)='./file0\x00', 0x26e1, 0x0)
r1 = syz_open_procfs(0xffffffffffffffff, &(0x7f0000000000)='fd/3\x00')

In resp_readcap16() we get "int alloc_len" value -1104926854, and then pass
the huge arr_len to fill_from_dev_buffer(), but arr is only 32 bytes. This
leads to OOB in sg_copy_buffer().
To solve this issue, define alloc_len as u32. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pinctrl: mediatek: fix global-out-of-bounds issue
When eint virtual eint number is greater than gpio number,
it maybe produce 'desc[eint_n]' size globle-out-of-bounds issue. |

| Windows Kernel Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability |
| Windows Remote Access Connection Manager Information Disclosure Vulnerability |
| The RSVP parser in tcpdump before 4.9.3 has a buffer over-read in print-rsvp.c:rsvp_obj_print(). |
| The htmlParseTryOrFinish function in HTMLparser.c in libxml2 2.9.4 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (buffer over-read) or information disclosure. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
powerpc/powernv/memtrace: Fix out of bounds issue in memtrace mmap
memtrace mmap issue has an out of bounds issue. This patch fixes the by
checking that the requested mapping region size should stay within the
allocated region size. |
| In ProcessArea of dng_misc_opcodes.cpp, there is a possible out of bounds read due to a buffer overflow. This could lead to local information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| In initDecoder of C2SoftDav1dDec.cpp, there is a possible out of bounds read due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to remote information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
rtnetlink: Correct nested IFLA_VF_VLAN_LIST attribute validation
Each attribute inside a nested IFLA_VF_VLAN_LIST is assumed to be a
struct ifla_vf_vlan_info so the size of such attribute needs to be at least
of sizeof(struct ifla_vf_vlan_info) which is 14 bytes.
The current size validation in do_setvfinfo is against NLA_HDRLEN (4 bytes)
which is less than sizeof(struct ifla_vf_vlan_info) so this validation
is not enough and a too small attribute might be cast to a
struct ifla_vf_vlan_info, this might result in an out of bands
read access when accessing the saved (casted) entry in ivvl. |
| Plack-Middleware-Session versions before 0.17 may be vulnerable to HMAC comparison timing attacks |
| LIBPNG is a reference library for use in applications that read, create, and manipulate PNG (Portable Network Graphics) raster image files. Prior to 1.6.52, an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in libpng's simplified API allows reading up to 1012 bytes beyond the png_sRGB_base[512] array when processing valid palette PNG images with partial transparency and gamma correction. The PNG files that trigger this vulnerability are valid per the PNG specification; the bug is in libpng's internal state management. Upgrade to libpng 1.6.52 or later. |
