CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: typec: ucsi: Fix NULL pointer access
Resources should be released only after all threads that utilize them
have been destroyed.
This commit ensures that resources are not released prematurely by waiting
for the associated workqueue to complete before deallocating them. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: renesas_usbhs: Flush the notify_hotplug_work
When performing continuous unbind/bind operations on the USB drivers
available on the Renesas RZ/G2L SoC, a kernel crash with the message
"Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address"
may occur. This issue points to the usbhsc_notify_hotplug() function.
Flush the delayed work to avoid its execution when driver resources are
unavailable. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
caif_virtio: fix wrong pointer check in cfv_probe()
del_vqs() frees virtqueues, therefore cfv->vq_tx pointer should be checked
for NULL before calling it, not cfv->vdev. Also the current implementation
is redundant because the pointer cfv->vdev is dereferenced before it is
checked for NULL.
Fix this by checking cfv->vq_tx for NULL instead of cfv->vdev before
calling del_vqs(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
can: ctucanfd: handle skb allocation failure
If skb allocation fails, the pointer to struct can_frame is NULL. This
is actually handled everywhere inside ctucan_err_interrupt() except for
the only place.
Add the missed NULL check.
Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE static
analysis tool. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
clk: qcom: dispcc-sm6350: Add missing parent_map for a clock
If a clk_rcg2 has a parent, it should also have parent_map defined,
otherwise we'll get a NULL pointer dereference when calling clk_set_rate
like the following:
[ 3.388105] Call trace:
[ 3.390664] qcom_find_src_index+0x3c/0x70 (P)
[ 3.395301] qcom_find_src_index+0x1c/0x70 (L)

[ 3.444483] clk_core_set_rate_nolock+0x8c/0x300
[ 3.455886] clk_set_rate+0x38/0x14c
Add the parent_map property for the clock where it's missing and also
un-inline the parent_data as well to keep the matching parent_map and
parent_data together. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
clk: qcom: gcc-sm6350: Add missing parent_map for two clocks
If a clk_rcg2 has a parent, it should also have parent_map defined,
otherwise we'll get a NULL pointer dereference when calling clk_set_rate
like the following:
[ 3.388105] Call trace:
[ 3.390664] qcom_find_src_index+0x3c/0x70 (P)

[ 3.444483] clk_core_set_rate_nolock+0x8c/0x300
[ 3.455886] clk_set_rate+0x38/0x14c
Add the parent_map property for two clocks where it's missing and also
un-inline the parent_data as well to keep the matching parent_map and
parent_data together. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in atomctrl_get_smc_sclk_range_table
The function atomctrl_get_smc_sclk_range_table() does not check the return
value of smu_atom_get_data_table(). If smu_atom_get_data_table() fails to
retrieve SMU_Info table, it returns NULL which is later dereferenced.
Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
In practice this should never happen as this code only gets called
on polaris chips and the vbios data table will always be present on
those chips. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
platform/x86: int3472: Check for adev == NULL
Not all devices have an ACPI companion fwnode, so adev might be NULL. This
can e.g. (theoretically) happen when a user manually binds one of
the int3472 drivers to another i2c/platform device through sysfs.
Add a check for adev not being set and return -ENODEV in that case to
avoid a possible NULL pointer deref in skl_int3472_get_acpi_buffer(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: imx-jpeg: Fix potential error pointer dereference in detach_pm()
The proble is on the first line:
if (jpeg->pd_dev[i] && !pm_runtime_suspended(jpeg->pd_dev[i]))
If jpeg->pd_dev[i] is an error pointer, then passing it to
pm_runtime_suspended() will lead to an Oops. The other conditions
check for both error pointers and NULL, but it would be more clear to
use the IS_ERR_OR_NULL() check for that. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: vidtv: Fix a null-ptr-deref in vidtv_mux_stop_thread
syzbot report a null-ptr-deref in vidtv_mux_stop_thread. [1]
If dvb->mux is not initialized successfully by vidtv_mux_init() in the
vidtv_start_streaming(), it will trigger null pointer dereference about mux
in vidtv_mux_stop_thread().
Adjust the timing of streaming initialization and check it before
stopping it.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: mediatek: vcodec: Fix H264 multi stateless decoder smatch warning
Fix a smatch static checker warning on vdec_h264_req_multi_if.c.
Which leads to a kernel crash when fb is NULL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: mediatek: vcodec: Fix VP8 stateless decoder smatch warning
Fix a smatch static checker warning on vdec_vp8_req_if.c.
Which leads to a kernel crash when fb is NULL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb/server: fix potential null-ptr-deref of lease_ctx_info in smb2_open()
null-ptr-deref will occur when (req_op_level == SMB2_OPLOCK_LEVEL_LEASE)
and parse_lease_state() return NULL.
Fix this by check if 'lease_ctx_info' is NULL.
Additionally, remove the redundant parentheses in
parse_durable_handle_context(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Add NULL pointer check for kzalloc
[Why & How]
Check return pointer of kzalloc before using it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: mtk-vcodec: potential null pointer deference in SCP
The return value of devm_kzalloc() needs to be checked to avoid
NULL pointer deference. This is similar to CVE-2022-3113. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: create sysfs nodes as driver's default device attribute group
The DisplayPort driver's sysfs nodes may be present to the userspace before
typec_altmode_set_drvdata() completes in dp_altmode_probe. This means that
a sysfs read can trigger a NULL pointer error by deferencing dp->hpd in
hpd_show or dp->lock in pin_assignment_show, as dev_get_drvdata() returns
NULL in those cases.
Remove manual sysfs node creation in favor of adding attribute group as
default for devices bound to the driver. The ATTRIBUTE_GROUPS() macro is
not used here otherwise the path to the sysfs nodes is no longer compliant
with the ABI. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: fixed integer types and null check locations
[why]:
issues fixed:
- comparison with wider integer type in loop condition which can cause
infinite loops
- pointer dereference before null check |
| In libetpan a null pointer dereference in mailimap_mailbox_data_status_free in low-level/imap/mailimap_types.c was found that could lead to a remote denial of service or other potential consequences. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i2c: dev: check return value when calling dev_set_name()
If dev_set_name() fails, the dev_name() is null, check the return
value of dev_set_name() to avoid the null-ptr-deref. |
| In freeradius, when an EAP-SIM supplicant sends an unknown SIM option, the server will try to look that option up in the internal dictionaries. This lookup will fail, but the SIM code will not check for that failure. Instead, it will dereference a NULL pointer, and cause the server to crash. |
