CVSS v3.1 |
| A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the way Foxit Reader 2024.1.0.23997 handles a Barcode widget. A specially crafted JavaScript code inside a malicious PDF document can trigger reuse of a previously freed object, which can lead to memory corruption and result in arbitrary code execution. An attacker needs to trick the user into opening the malicious file to trigger this vulnerability. Exploitation is also possible if a user visits a specially crafted, malicious site if the browser plugin extension is enabled. |
| A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the HTTP Connection Headers parsing in Tinyproxy 1.11.1 and Tinyproxy 1.10.0. A specially crafted HTTP header can trigger reuse of previously freed memory, which leads to memory corruption and could lead to remote code execution. An attacker needs to make an unauthenticated HTTP request to trigger this vulnerability. |
| The JavaScript garbage collector could mis-color cross-compartment objects if OOM conditions were detected at the right point between two passes. This could have led to memory corruption. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 130, Firefox ESR < 128.2, Firefox ESR < 115.15, Thunderbird < 128.2, and Thunderbird < 115.15. |
| The function ctl_write_buffer incorrectly set a flag which resulted in a kernel Use-After-Free when a command finished processing.
Malicious software running in a guest VM that exposes virtio_scsi can exploit the vulnerabilities to achieve code execution on the host in the bhyve userspace process, which typically runs as root. Note that bhyve runs in a Capsicum sandbox, so malicious code is constrained by the capabilities available to the bhyve process. A malicious iSCSI initiator could achieve remote code execution on the iSCSI target host. |
| PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C language implementing standard based protocols such as SIP, SDP, RTP, STUN, TURN, and ICE. In versions up to and including 2.11.1 when in a dialog set (or forking) scenario, a hash key shared by multiple UAC dialogs can potentially be prematurely freed when one of the dialogs is destroyed . The issue may cause a dialog set to be registered in the hash table multiple times (with different hash keys) leading to undefined behavior such as dialog list collision which eventually leading to endless loop. A patch is available in commit db3235953baa56d2fb0e276ca510fefca751643f which will be included in the next release. There are no known workarounds for this issue. |
| An issue was discovered in gatt-database.c in BlueZ 5.61. A use-after-free can occur when a client disconnects during D-Bus processing of a WriteValue call. |
| Apache httpd allows remote attackers to read secret data from process memory if the Limit directive can be set in a user's .htaccess file, or if httpd.conf has certain misconfigurations, aka Optionsbleed. This affects the Apache HTTP Server through 2.2.34 and 2.4.x through 2.4.27. The attacker sends an unauthenticated OPTIONS HTTP request when attempting to read secret data. This is a use-after-free issue and thus secret data is not always sent, and the specific data depends on many factors including configuration. Exploitation with .htaccess can be blocked with a patch to the ap_limit_section function in server/core.c. |
| An attacker was able to achieve code execution in the content process by exploiting a use-after-free in Animation timelines. We have had reports of this vulnerability being exploited in the wild. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 131.0.2, Firefox ESR < 128.3.1, Firefox ESR < 115.16.1, Thunderbird < 131.0.1, Thunderbird < 128.3.1, and Thunderbird < 115.16.0. |
| Removing an XSLT parameter during processing could have lead to an exploitable use-after-free. We have had reports of attacks in the wild abusing this flaw. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 97.0.2, Firefox ESR < 91.6.1, Firefox for Android < 97.3.0, Thunderbird < 91.6.2, and Focus < 97.3.0. |
| An unexpected message in the WebGPU IPC framework could lead to a use-after-free and exploitable sandbox escape. We have had reports of attacks in the wild abusing this flaw. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 97.0.2, Firefox ESR < 91.6.1, Firefox for Android < 97.3.0, Thunderbird < 91.6.2, and Focus < 97.3.0. |
| Under certain conditions, when running the nsDocShell destructor, a race condition can cause a use-after-free. We are aware of targeted attacks in the wild abusing this flaw. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.7.0, Firefox < 74.0.1, and Firefox ESR < 68.6.1. |
| Under certain conditions, when handling a ReadableStream, a race condition can cause a use-after-free. We are aware of targeted attacks in the wild abusing this flaw. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 68.7.0, Firefox < 74.0.1, and Firefox ESR < 68.6.1. |
| A use-after-free vulnerability in SVG Animation has been discovered. An exploit built on this vulnerability has been discovered in the wild targeting Firefox and Tor Browser users on Windows. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 50.0.2, Firefox ESR < 45.5.1, and Thunderbird < 45.5.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
hv_sock: Initializing vsk->trans to NULL to prevent a dangling pointer
When hvs is released, there is a possibility that vsk->trans may not
be initialized to NULL, which could lead to a dangling pointer.
This issue is resolved by initializing vsk->trans to NULL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm cache: fix flushing uninitialized delayed_work on cache_ctr error
An unexpected WARN_ON from flush_work() may occur when cache creation
fails, caused by destroying the uninitialized delayed_work waker in the
error path of cache_create(). For example, the warning appears on the
superblock checksum error.
Reproduce steps:
dmsetup create cmeta --table "0 8192 linear /dev/sdc 0"
dmsetup create cdata --table "0 65536 linear /dev/sdc 8192"
dmsetup create corig --table "0 524288 linear /dev/sdc 262144"
dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/mapper/cmeta bs=4k count=1 oflag=direct
dmsetup create cache --table "0 524288 cache /dev/mapper/cmeta \
/dev/mapper/cdata /dev/mapper/corig 128 2 metadata2 writethrough smq 0"
Kernel logs:
(snip)
WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 84 at kernel/workqueue.c:4178 __flush_work+0x5d4/0x890
Fix by pulling out the cancel_delayed_work_sync() from the constructor's
error path. This patch doesn't affect the use-after-free fix for
concurrent dm_resume and dm_destroy (commit 6a459d8edbdb ("dm cache: Fix
UAF in destroy()")) as cache_dtr is not changed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: musb: sunxi: Fix accessing an released usb phy
Commit 6ed05c68cbca ("usb: musb: sunxi: Explicitly release USB PHY on
exit") will cause that usb phy @glue->xceiv is accessed after released.
1) register platform driver @sunxi_musb_driver
// get the usb phy @glue->xceiv
sunxi_musb_probe() -> devm_usb_get_phy().
2) register and unregister platform driver @musb_driver
musb_probe() -> sunxi_musb_init()
use the phy here
//the phy is released here
musb_remove() -> sunxi_musb_exit() -> devm_usb_put_phy()
3) register @musb_driver again
musb_probe() -> sunxi_musb_init()
use the phy here but the phy has been released at 2).
...
Fixed by reverting the commit, namely, removing devm_usb_put_phy()
from sunxi_musb_exit(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
USB: serial: io_edgeport: fix use after free in debug printk
The "dev_dbg(&urb->dev->dev, ..." which happens after usb_free_urb(urb)
is a use after free of the "urb" pointer. Store the "dev" pointer at the
start of the function to avoid this issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vsock/virtio: Initialization of the dangling pointer occurring in vsk->trans
During loopback communication, a dangling pointer can be created in
vsk->trans, potentially leading to a Use-After-Free condition. This
issue is resolved by initializing vsk->trans to NULL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
macsec: Fix use-after-free while sending the offloading packet
KASAN reports the following UAF. The metadata_dst, which is used to
store the SCI value for macsec offload, is already freed by
metadata_dst_free() in macsec_free_netdev(), while driver still use it
for sending the packet.
To fix this issue, dst_release() is used instead to release
metadata_dst. So it is not freed instantly in macsec_free_netdev() if
still referenced by skb.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: explicitly clear the sk pointer, when pf->create fails
We have recently noticed the exact same KASAN splat as in commit
6cd4a78d962b ("net: do not leave a dangling sk pointer, when socket
creation fails"). The problem is that commit did not fully address the
problem, as some pf->create implementations do not use sk_common_release
in their error paths.
For example, we can use the same reproducer as in the above commit, but
changing ping to arping. arping uses AF_PACKET socket and if packet_create
fails, it will just sk_free the allocated sk object.
While we could chase all the pf->create implementations and make sure they
NULL the freed sk object on error from the socket, we can't guarantee
future protocols will not make the same mistake.
So it is easier to just explicitly NULL the sk pointer upon return from
pf->create in __sock_create. We do know that pf->create always releases the
allocated sk object on error, so if the pointer is not NULL, it is
definitely dangling. |
