CVSS v3.1 |
An exploitable out-of-bounds read exists in the handling of the MXIT protocol in Pidgin. Specially crafted MXIT contact information sent from the server can result in memory disclosure.
In the PatternMatch function in fontfile/fontdir.c in libXfont through 1.5.2 and 2.x before 2.0.2, an attacker with access to an X connection can cause a buffer over-read during pattern matching of fonts, leading to information disclosure or a crash (denial of service). This occurs because '\0' characters are incorrectly skipped in situations involving ? characters.
An information leak exists in the handling of the MXIT protocol in Pidgin. Specially crafted MXIT data sent to the server could potentially result in an out-of-bounds read. A user could be convinced to enter a particular string which would then get converted incorrectly and could lead to a potential out-of-bounds read.
The function GfxImageColorMap::getGray in GfxState.cc in Poppler 0.54.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (stack-based buffer over-read and application crash) via a crafted PDF document, related to missing color-map validation in ImageOutputDev.cc.
A vulnerability in the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) subsystem of Cisco IOS XE 3.16 could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is due to a race condition that could occur when the affected software processes an SNMP read request that contains certain criteria for a specific object ID (OID) and an active crypto session is disconnected on an affected device. An attacker who can authenticate to an affected device could trigger this vulnerability by issuing an SNMP request for a specific OID on the device. A successful exploit will cause the device to restart due to an attempt to access an invalid memory region. The attacker does not control how or when crypto sessions are disconnected on the device. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvb94392.
The quicktime_video_width function in lqt_quicktime.c in libquicktime 1.2.4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read and application crash) via a crafted mp4 file.
In LibTIFF 4.0.6 and possibly other versions, the program processes BMP images without verifying that biWidth and biHeight in the bitmap-information header match the actual input, as demonstrated by a heap-based buffer over-read in bmp2tiff. NOTE: mentioning bmp2tiff does not imply that the activation point is in the bmp2tiff.c file (which was removed before the 4.0.7 release).
LibTIFF 4.0.0alpha4, 4.0.0alpha5, 4.0.0alpha6, 4.0.0beta7, 4.0.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.3, 4.0.4, 4.0.4beta, 4.0.5, 4.0.6 and 4.0.7 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted TIFF image, related to "READ of size 512" and libtiff/tif_unix.c:340:2.
In GNU Libextractor 1.4, there is an out-of-bounds read in the EXTRACTOR_dvi_extract_method function in plugins/dvi_extractor.c.
In GraphicsMagick 1.4 snapshot-20171217 Q8, there is a heap-based buffer over-read in ReadMNGImage in coders/png.c, related to accessing one byte before testing whether a limit has been reached.
In GraphicsMagick 1.4 snapshot-20171217 Q8, there is a heap-based buffer over-read in ReadNewsProfile in coders/tiff.c, in which LocaleNCompare reads heap data beyond the allocated region.
In ImageMagick 7.0.7-16 Q16 x86_64 2017-12-21, there is a stack-based buffer over-read in WriteWEBPImage in coders/webp.c, related to a WEBP_DECODER_ABI_VERSION check.
JasPer 2.0.12 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read and application crash) via a crafted image, related to the jp2_decode function in libjasper/jp2/jp2_dec.c.
The snd_msndmidi_input_read function in sound/isa/msnd/msnd_midi.c in the Linux kernel through 4.11.7 allows local users to cause a denial of service (over-boundary access) or possibly have unspecified other impact by changing the value of a message queue head pointer between two kernel reads of that value, aka a "double fetch" vulnerability.
In GIMP 2.8.22, there is a heap-based buffer over-read in ReadImage in plug-ins/common/file-tga.c (related to bgr2rgb.part.1) via an unexpected bits-per-pixel value for an RGBA image.
In GraphicsMagick 1.3.27a, there is a buffer over-read in ReadPALMImage in coders/palm.c when QuantumDepth is 8.
The snd_msnd_interrupt function in sound/isa/msnd/msnd_pinnacle.c in the Linux kernel through 4.11.7 allows local users to cause a denial of service (over-boundary access) or possibly have unspecified other impact by changing the value of a message queue head pointer between two kernel reads of that value, aka a "double fetch" vulnerability.
In GraphicsMagick 1.3.27a, there is a heap-based buffer over-read in ReadOneJNGImage in coders/png.c, related to oFFs chunk allocation.
The II_step_one function in layer2.c in mpglib, as used in libmpgdecoder.a in LAME 3.99.5 and other products, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (buffer over-read and application crash) via a crafted audio file.
In OpenEXR 2.2.0, an invalid read of size 2 in the hufDecode function in ImfHuf.cpp could cause the application to crash.
