CVE-2023-52534 | 2024-11-05 | 5.9 Medium
In ngmm, there is a possible undefined behavior due to incorrect error handling. This could lead to remote denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed
CVE-2024-47727 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-05 | 7.8 High |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/tdx: Fix "in-kernel MMIO" check TDX only supports kernel-initiated MMIO operations. The handle_mmio() function checks if the #VE exception occurred in the kernel and rejects the operation if it did not. However, userspace can deceive the kernel into performing MMIO on its behalf. For example, if userspace can point a syscall to an MMIO address, syscall does get_user() or put_user() on it, triggering MMIO #VE. The kernel will treat the #VE as in-kernel MMIO. Ensure that the target MMIO address is within the kernel before decoding instruction.
CVE-2024-44963 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-05 | 5.5 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not BUG_ON() when freeing tree block after error When freeing a tree block, at btrfs_free_tree_block(), if we fail to create a delayed reference we don't deal with the error and just do a BUG_ON(). The error most likely to happen is -ENOMEM, and we have a comment mentioning that only -ENOMEM can happen, but that is not true, because in case qgroups are enabled any error returned from btrfs_qgroup_trace_extent_post() (can be -EUCLEAN or anything returned from btrfs_search_slot() for example) can be propagated back to btrfs_free_tree_block(). So stop doing a BUG_ON() and return the error to the callers and make them abort the transaction to prevent leaking space. Syzbot was triggering this, likely due to memory allocation failure injection.
CVE-2024-44948 | 2024-11-05 | 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mtrr: Check if fixed MTRRs exist before saving them MTRRs have an obsolete fixed variant for fine grained caching control of the 640K-1MB region that uses separate MSRs. This fixed variant has a separate capability bit in the MTRR capability MSR. So far all x86 CPUs which support MTRR have this separate bit set, so it went unnoticed that mtrr_save_state() does not check the capability bit before accessing the fixed MTRR MSRs. Though on a CPU that does not support the fixed MTRR capability this results in a #GP. The #GP itself is harmless because the RDMSR fault is handled gracefully, but results in a WARN_ON(). Add the missing capability check to prevent this.
CVE-2024-42284 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus | 2024-11-05 | 7.8 High |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tipc: Return non-zero value from tipc_udp_addr2str() on error tipc_udp_addr2str() should return non-zero value if the UDP media address is invalid. Otherwise, a buffer overflow access can occur in tipc_media_addr_printf(). Fix this by returning 1 on an invalid UDP media address.
CVE-2024-42224 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-05 | 6.1 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Correct check for empty list Since commit a3c53be55c95 ("net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Support multiple MDIO busses") mv88e6xxx_default_mdio_bus() has checked that the return value of list_first_entry() is non-NULL. This appears to be intended to guard against the list chip->mdios being empty. However, it is not the correct check as the implementation of list_first_entry is not designed to return NULL for empty lists. Instead, use list_first_entry_or_null() which does return NULL if the list is empty. Flagged by Smatch. Compile tested only.
CVE-2024-42162 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-05 | 7.0 High |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gve: Account for stopped queues when reading NIC stats We now account for the fact that the NIC might send us stats for a subset of queues. Without this change, gve_get_ethtool_stats might make an invalid access on the priv->stats_report->stats array.
CVE-2024-42160 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-05 | 7.8 High |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: check validation of fault attrs in f2fs_build_fault_attr() - It missed to check validation of fault attrs in parse_options(), let's fix to add check condition in f2fs_build_fault_attr(). - Use f2fs_build_fault_attr() in __sbi_store() to clean up code.
CVE-2024-42159 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2024-11-05 | 7.8 High |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpi3mr: Sanitise num_phys Information is stored in mr_sas_port->phy_mask, values larger then size of this field shouldn't be allowed.
CVE-2024-42154 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus | 2024-11-05 | 4.4 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp_metrics: validate source addr length I don't see anything checking that TCP_METRICS_ATTR_SADDR_IPV4 is at least 4 bytes long, and the policy doesn't have an entry for this attribute at all (neither does it for IPv6 but v6 is manually validated).
CVE-2024-36481 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-05 | 5.5 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing/probes: fix error check in parse_btf_field() btf_find_struct_member() might return NULL or an error via the ERR_PTR() macro. However, its caller in parse_btf_field() only checks for the NULL condition. Fix this by using IS_ERR() and returning the error up the stack.
CVE-2022-48902 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2024-11-04 | 5.5 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not WARN_ON() if we have PageError set Whenever we do any extent buffer operations we call assert_eb_page_uptodate() to complain loudly if we're operating on an non-uptodate page. It didn't keep us from continuing to use a buffer that we already had found. In this case we're searching the commit root to cache the block group, so we can start committing the transaction and switch the commit root and then start writing. After the switch we can look up an extent buffer that hasn't been written yet and start processing that block group. Then we fail to write that block out and clear Uptodate on the page, and then we start spewing these errors. Normally we're protected by the tree lock to a certain degree here. If we read a block we have that block read locked, and we block the writer from locking the block before we submit it for the write. However this isn't necessarily fool proof because the read could happen before we do the submit_bio and after we locked and unlocked the extent buffer. Also in this particular case we have path->skip_locking set, so that won't save us here. We'll simply get a block that was valid when we read it, but became invalid while we were using it. What we really want is to catch the case where we've "read" a block but it's not marked Uptodate. On read we ClearPageError(), so if we're !Uptodate and !Error we know we didn't do the right thing for reading the page. Fix this by checking !Uptodate && !Error, this way we will not complain if our buffer gets invalidated while we're using it, and we'll maintain the spirit of the check which is to make sure we have a fully in-cache block while we're messing with it.
CVE-2021-47433 | 2024-11-04 | 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix abort logic in btrfs_replace_file_extents Error injection testing uncovered a case where we'd end up with a corrupt file system with a missing extent in the middle of a file. This occurs because the if statement to decide if we should abort is wrong. The only way we would abort in this case is if we got a ret != -EOPNOTSUPP and we called from the file clone code. However the prealloc code uses this path too. Instead we need to abort if there is an error, and the only error we _don't_ abort on is -EOPNOTSUPP and only if we came from the clone file code.
CVE-2021-47393 | 1 Redhat | 4 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 1 more | 2024-11-04 | 4.7 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (mlxreg-fan) Return non-zero value when fan current state is enforced from sysfs Fan speed minimum can be enforced from sysfs. For example, setting current fan speed to 20 is used to enforce fan speed to be at 100% speed, 19 - to be not below 90% speed, etcetera. This feature provides ability to limit fan speed according to some system wise considerations, like absence of some replaceable units or high system ambient temperature. Request for changing fan minimum speed is configuration request and can be set only through 'sysfs' write procedure. In this situation value of argument 'state' is above nominal fan speed maximum. Return non-zero code in this case to avoid thermal_cooling_device_stats_update() call, because in this case statistics update violates thermal statistics table range. The issues is observed in case kernel is configured with option CONFIG_THERMAL_STATISTICS. Here is the trace from KASAN: [ 159.506659] BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in thermal_cooling_device_stats_update+0x7d/0xb0 [ 159.516016] Read of size 4 at addr ffff888116163840 by task hw-management.s/7444 [ 159.545625] Call Trace: [ 159.548366] dump_stack+0x92/0xc1 [ 159.552084] ? thermal_cooling_device_stats_update+0x7d/0xb0 [ 159.635869] thermal_zone_device_update+0x345/0x780 [ 159.688711] thermal_zone_device_set_mode+0x7d/0xc0 [ 159.694174] mlxsw_thermal_modules_init+0x48f/0x590 [mlxsw_core] [ 159.700972] ? mlxsw_thermal_set_cur_state+0x5a0/0x5a0 [mlxsw_core] [ 159.731827] mlxsw_thermal_init+0x763/0x880 [mlxsw_core] [ 160.070233] RIP: 0033:0x7fd995909970 [ 160.074239] Code: 73 01 c3 48 8b 0d 28 d5 2b 00 f7 d8 64 89 01 48 83 c8 ff c3 66 0f 1f 44 00 00 83 3d 99 2d 2c 00 00 75 10 b8 01 00 00 00 0f 05 <48> 3d 01 f0 ff .. CVE-2021-46934 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2024-11-04 | 3.3 Low |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: validate user data in compat ioctl Wrong user data may cause warning in i2c_transfer(), ex: zero msgs. Userspace should not be able to trigger warnings, so this patch adds validation checks for user data in compact ioctl to prevent reported warnings
CVE-2021-46909 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2024-11-04 | 5.5 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ARM: footbridge: fix PCI interrupt mapping Since commit 30fdfb929e82 ("PCI: Add a call to pci_assign_irq() in pci_device_probe()"), the PCI code will call the IRQ mapping function whenever a PCI driver is probed. If these are marked as __init, this causes an oops if a PCI driver is loaded or bound after the kernel has initialised.
CVE-2022-20837 | 1 Cisco | 5 Asr 1000-esp100-x, Asr 1000-esp200-x, Catalyst 8500 and 2 more | 2024-11-01 | 8.6 High |
A vulnerability in the DNS application layer gateway (ALG) functionality that is used by Network Address Translation (NAT) in Cisco IOS XE Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload. This vulnerability is due to a logic error that occurs when an affected device inspects certain TCP DNS packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted DNS packets through the affected device that is performing NAT for DNS packets. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition on the affected device. Note: This vulnerability can be exploited only by sending IPv4 TCP packets through an affected device. This vulnerability cannot be exploited by sending IPv6 traffic.
CVE-2024-4367 | 2 Mozilla, Redhat | 8 Firefox, Firefox Esr, Thunderbird and 5 more | 2024-11-01 | 7.5 High |
A type check was missing when handling fonts in PDF.js, which would allow arbitrary JavaScript execution in the PDF.js context. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 126, Firefox ESR < 115.11, and Thunderbird < 115.11.
CVE-2021-29544 | 1 Google | 1 Tensorflow | 2024-10-31 | 2.5 Low |
TensorFlow is an end-to-end open source platform for machine learning. An attacker can trigger a denial of service via a `CHECK`-fail in `tf.raw_ops.QuantizeAndDequantizeV4Grad`. This is because the implementation does not validate the rank of the `input_*` tensors. In turn, this results in the tensors being passes as they are to `QuantizeAndDequantizePerChannelGradientImpl`. However, the `vec<T>` method, requires the rank to 1 and triggers a `CHECK` failure otherwise. The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.5.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.4.2 as this is the only other affected version.
CVE-2024-23079 | 2024-10-31 | 6.2 Medium
JGraphT Core v1.5.2 was discovered to contain a NullPointerException via the component org.jgrapht.alg.util.ToleranceDoubleComparator::compare(Double, Double). NOTE: this is disputed by multiple third parties who believe there was not reasonable evidence to determine the existence of a vulnerability. The submission may have been based on a tool that is not sufficiently robust for vulnerability identification. |
