CVE-2018-1120 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 13 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 10 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
A flaw was found affecting the Linux kernel before version 4.17. By mmap()ing a FUSE-backed file onto a process's memory containing command line arguments (or environment strings), an attacker can cause utilities from psutils or procps (such as ps, w) or any other program which makes a read() call to the /proc/<pid>/cmdline (or /proc/<pid>/environ) files to block indefinitely (denial of service) or for some controlled time (as a synchronization primitive for other attacks).
CVE-2018-1068 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 17 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 14 more | 2024-11-21 | 6.7 Medium |
A flaw was found in the Linux 4.x kernel's implementation of 32-bit syscall interface for bridging. This allowed a privileged user to arbitrarily write to a limited range of kernel memory.
CVE-2018-18559 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 16 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 13 more | 2024-11-21 | 8.1 High |
In the Linux kernel through 4.19, a use-after-free can occur due to a race condition between fanout_add from setsockopt and bind on an AF_PACKET socket. This issue exists because of the 15fe076edea787807a7cdc168df832544b58eba6 incomplete fix for a race condition. The code mishandles a certain multithreaded case involving a packet_do_bind unregister action followed by a packet_notifier register action. Later, packet_release operates on only one of the two applicable linked lists. The attacker can achieve Program Counter control.
CVE-2018-18281 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 10 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
Since Linux kernel version 3.2, the mremap() syscall performs TLB flushes after dropping pagetable locks. If a syscall such as ftruncate() removes entries from the pagetables of a task that is in the middle of mremap(), a stale TLB entry can remain for a short time that permits access to a physical page after it has been released back to the page allocator and reused. This is fixed in the following kernel versions: 4.9.135, 4.14.78, 4.18.16, 4.19.
CVE-2018-16884 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 8 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 5 more | 2024-11-21 | 8.0 High |
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NFS41+ subsystem. NFS41+ shares mounted in different network namespaces at the same time can make bc_svc_process() use wrong back-channel IDs and cause a use-after-free vulnerability. Thus a malicious container user can cause a host kernel memory corruption and a system panic. Due to the nature of the flaw, privilege escalation cannot be fully ruled out.
CVE-2018-16871 | 3 Linux, Netapp, Redhat | 31 Linux Kernel, Cloud Backup, H300e and 28 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NFS implementation, all versions 3.x and all versions 4.x up to 4.20. An attacker, who is able to mount an exported NFS filesystem, is able to trigger a null pointer dereference by using an invalid NFS sequence. This can panic the machine and deny access to the NFS server. Any outstanding disk writes to the NFS server will be lost.
CVE-2018-14634 | 4 Canonical, Linux, Netapp and 1 more | 16 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Active Iq Performance Analytics Services and 13 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
An integer overflow flaw was found in the Linux kernel's create_elf_tables() function. An unprivileged local user with access to SUID (or otherwise privileged) binary could use this flaw to escalate their privileges on the system. Kernel versions 2.6.x, 3.10.x and 4.14.x are believed to be vulnerable.
CVE-2018-13405 | 6 Canonical, Debian, F5 and 3 more | 34 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Big-ip Access Policy Manager and 31 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
The inode_init_owner function in fs/inode.c in the Linux kernel through 3.16 allows local users to create files with an unintended group ownership, in a scenario where a directory is SGID to a certain group and is writable by a user who is not a member of that group. Here, the non-member can trigger creation of a plain file whose group ownership is that group. The intended behavior was that the non-member can trigger creation of a directory (but not a plain file) whose group ownership is that group. The non-member can escalate privileges by making the plain file executable and SGID.
CVE-2018-12931 | 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Mrg | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
ntfs_attr_find in the ntfs.ko filesystem driver in the Linux kernel 4.15.0 allows attackers to trigger a stack-based out-of-bounds write and cause a denial of service (kernel oops or panic) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted ntfs filesystem.
CVE-2018-12930 | 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Mrg | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
ntfs_end_buffer_async_read in the ntfs.ko filesystem driver in the Linux kernel 4.15.0 allows attackers to trigger a stack-based out-of-bounds write and cause a denial of service (kernel oops or panic) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted ntfs filesystem.
CVE-2018-12929 | 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Mrg | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
ntfs_read_locked_inode in the ntfs.ko filesystem driver in the Linux kernel 4.15.0 allows attackers to trigger a use-after-free read and possibly cause a denial of service (kernel oops or panic) via a crafted ntfs filesystem.
CVE-2018-12207 | 8 Canonical, Debian, F5 and 5 more | 1541 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Big-ip Access Policy Manager and 1538 more | 2024-11-21 | 6.5 Medium |

CVE-2018-10902 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 10 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
It was found that the raw midi kernel driver does not protect against concurrent access which leads to a double realloc (double free) in snd_rawmidi_input_params() and snd_rawmidi_output_status() which are part of snd_rawmidi_ioctl() handler in rawmidi.c file. A malicious local attacker could possibly use this for privilege escalation. |
