CVE-2022-38349 | 1 Freedesktop | 1 Poppler | 2024-10-03 | 6.5 Medium |
An issue was discovered in Poppler 22.08.0. There is a reachable assertion in Object.h, will lead to denial of service because PDFDoc::replacePageDict in PDFDoc.cc lacks a stream check before saving an embedded file.
CVE-2023-1428 | 1 Grpc | 1 Grpc | 2024-09-26 | 7.5 High |
There exists an vulnerability causing an abort() to be called in gRPC. The following headers cause gRPC's C++ implementation to abort() when called via http2: te: x (x != trailers) :scheme: x (x != http, https) grpclb_client_stats: x (x == anything) On top of sending one of those headers, a later header must be sent that gets the total header size past 8KB. We recommend upgrading past git commit 2485fa94bd8a723e5c977d55a3ce10b301b437f8 or v1.53 and above.

A flaw was found in QEMU. The async nature of hot-unplug enables a race scenario where the net device backend is cleared before the virtio-net pci frontend has been unplugged. A malicious guest could use this time window to trigger an assertion and cause a denial of service.
CVE-2023-32820 | 4 Google, Linux, Linuxfoundation and 1 more | 43 Android, Linux Kernel, Yocto and 40 more | 2024-09-23 | 7.5 High |
In wlan firmware, there is a possible firmware assertion due to improper input handling. This could lead to remote denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS07932637; Issue ID: ALPS07932637.

CVE-2023-44175 | 1 Juniper | 2 Junos, Junos Os Evolved | 2024-09-19 | 6.5 Medium |
A Reachable Assertion vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows to send specific genuine PIM packets to the device resulting in rpd to crash causing a Denial of Service (DoS). Continued receipt and processing of this packet will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Note: This issue is not noticed when all the devices in the network are Juniper devices. This issue affects Juniper Networks: Junos OS: * All versions prior to 20.4R3-S7; * 21.2 versions prior to 21.2R3-S5; * 21.3 versions prior to 21.3R3-S4; * 21.4 versions prior to 21.4R3-S4; * 22.1 versions prior to 22.1R3-S4; * 22.2 versions prior to 22.2R3; * 22.3 versions prior to 22.3R3; * 22.4 versions prior to 22.4R3. Junos OS Evolved: * All versions prior to 22.3R3-EVO; * 22.4-EVO versions prior to 22.4R3-EVO; * 23.2-EVO versions prior to 23.2R1-EVO.
CVE-2022-1183 | 2 Isc, Netapp | 11 Bind, H300s, H300s Firmware and 8 more | 2024-09-17 | 7.5 High |
On vulnerable configurations, the named daemon may, in some circumstances, terminate with an assertion failure. Vulnerable configurations are those that include a reference to http within the listen-on statements in their named.conf. TLS is used by both DNS over TLS (DoT) and DNS over HTTPS (DoH), but configurations using DoT alone are unaffected. Affects BIND 9.18.0 -> 9.18.2 and version 9.19.0 of the BIND 9.19 development branch.
CVE-2019-6472 | 1 Isc | 1 Kea | 2024-09-17 | 6.5 Medium |
A packet containing a malformed DUID can cause the Kea DHCPv6 server process (kea-dhcp6) to exit due to an assertion failure. Versions affected: 1.4.0 to 1.5.0, 1.6.0-beta1, and 1.6.0-beta2.
CVE-2018-5742 | 2 Isc, Redhat | 2 Bind, Enterprise Linux | 2024-09-17 | 7.5 High |
While backporting a feature for a newer branch of BIND9, RedHat introduced a path leading to an assertion failure in buffer.c:420. Affects RedHat versions bind-9.9.4-65.el7 -> bind-9.9.4-72.el7. No ISC releases are affected. Other packages from other distributions who made the same error may also be affected.
CVE-2020-8619 | 7 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more | 7 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 4 more | 2024-09-17 | 4.9 Medium |
In ISC BIND9 versions BIND 9.11.14 -> 9.11.19, BIND 9.14.9 -> 9.14.12, BIND 9.16.0 -> 9.16.3, BIND Supported Preview Edition 9.11.14-S1 -> 9.11.19-S1: Unless a nameserver is providing authoritative service for one or more zones and at least one zone contains an empty non-terminal entry containing an asterisk ("*") character, this defect cannot be encountered. A would-be attacker who is allowed to change zone content could theoretically introduce such a record in order to exploit this condition to cause denial of service, though we consider the use of this vector unlikely because any such attack would require a significant privilege level and be easily traceable.
CVE-2020-8623 | 8 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 5 more | 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 6 more | 2024-09-17 | 7.5 High |
In BIND 9.10.0 -> 9.11.21, 9.12.0 -> 9.16.5, 9.17.0 -> 9.17.3, also affects 9.10.5-S1 -> 9.11.21-S1 of the BIND 9 Supported Preview Edition, An attacker that can reach a vulnerable system with a specially crafted query packet can trigger a crash. To be vulnerable, the system must: * be running BIND that was built with "--enable-native-pkcs11" * be signing one or more zones with an RSA key * be able to receive queries from a possible attacker

The vulnerability affects only BIND 9 releases 9.16.19, 9.17.16, and release 9.16.19-S1 of the BIND Supported Preview Edition.
CVE-2018-5734 | 2 Isc, Netapp | 3 Bind, Data Ontap Edge, Solidfire Element Os Management Node | 2024-09-17 | N/A |
While handling a particular type of malformed packet BIND erroneously selects a SERVFAIL rcode instead of a FORMERR rcode. If the receiving view has the SERVFAIL cache feature enabled, this can trigger an assertion failure in badcache.c when the request doesn't contain all of the expected information. Affects BIND 9.10.5-S1 to 9.10.5-S4, 9.10.6-S1, 9.10.6-S2.
CVE-2018-14045 | 1 Surina | 1 Soundtouch | 2024-09-17 | N/A |
The FIRFilter::evaluateFilterMulti function in FIRFilter.cpp in libSoundTouch.a in Olli Parviainen SoundTouch 2.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure and application exit), as demonstrated by SoundStretch.
