CVE-2017-17023 2 Ncp-e, Sophos 2 Ncp Secure Entry Client, Ipsec Client 2024-08-05 N/A
The Sophos UTM VPN endpoint interacts with client software provided by NPC Engineering (www.ncp-e.com). The affected client software, "Sophos IPSec Client" 11.04 is a rebranded version of NCP "Secure Entry Client" 10.11 r32792. A vulnerability in the software update feature of the VPN client allows a man-in-the-middle (MITM) or man-on-the-side (MOTS) attacker to execute arbitrary, malicious software on a target user's computer. This is related to SIC_V11.04-64.exe (Sophos), NCP_EntryCl_Windows_x86_1004_31799.exe (NCP), and ncpmon.exe (both Sophos and NCP). The vulnerability exists because: (1) the VPN client requests update metadata over an insecure HTTP connection; and (2) the client software does not check if the software update is signed before running it.
CVE-2017-14604 3 Debian, Gnome, Redhat 3 Debian Linux, Nautilus, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-05 6.5 Medium
GNOME Nautilus before 3.23.90 allows attackers to spoof a file type by using the .desktop file extension, as demonstrated by an attack in which a .desktop file's Name field ends in .pdf but this file's Exec field launches a malicious "sh -c" command. In other words, Nautilus provides no UI indication that a file actually has the potentially unsafe .desktop extension; instead, the UI only shows the .pdf extension. One (slightly) mitigating factor is that an attack requires the .desktop file to have execute permission. The solution is to ask the user to confirm that the file is supposed to be treated as a .desktop file, and then remember the user's answer in the metadata::trusted field.
CVE-2017-14091 1 Trendmicro 1 Scanmail 2024-08-05 N/A
A vulnerability in Trend Micro ScanMail for Exchange 12.0 exists in which certain specific installations that utilize a uncommon feature - Other Update Sources - could be exploited to overwrite sensitive files in the ScanMail for Exchange directory.
CVE-2017-13083 1 Rufus Project 1 Rufus 2024-08-05 N/A
Akeo Consulting Rufus prior to version 2.17.1187 does not adequately validate the integrity of updates downloaded over HTTP, allowing an attacker to easily convince a user to execute arbitrary code
CVE-2017-12972 1 Connect2id 1 Nimbus Jose\+jwt 2024-08-05 N/A
In Nimbus JOSE+JWT before 4.39, there is no integer-overflow check when converting length values from bytes to bits, which allows attackers to conduct HMAC bypass attacks by shifting Additional Authenticated Data (AAD) and ciphertext so that different plaintext is obtained for the same HMAC.
CVE-2017-12740 1 Siemens 1 Logo\! Soft Comfort 2024-08-05 N/A
Siemens LOGO! Soft Comfort (All versions before V8.2) lacks integrity verification of software packages downloaded via an unprotected communication channel. This could allow a remote attacker to manipulate the software package while performing a Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attack.
CVE-2017-12440 2 Openstack, Redhat 2 Openstack, Openstack 2024-08-05 N/A
Aodh as packaged in Openstack Ocata and Newton before change-ID I8fd11a7f9fe3c0ea5f9843a89686ac06713b7851 and before Pike-rc1 does not verify that trust IDs belong to the user when creating alarm action with the scheme trust+http, which allows remote authenticated users with knowledge of trust IDs where Aodh is the trustee to obtain a Keystone token and perform unspecified authenticated actions by adding an alarm action with the scheme trust+http, and providing a trust id where Aodh is the trustee.
CVE-2017-11103 5 Apple, Debian, Freebsd and 2 more 6 Iphone Os, Mac Os X, Debian Linux and 3 more 2024-08-05 8.1 High
Heimdal before 7.4 allows remote attackers to impersonate services with Orpheus' Lyre attacks because it obtains service-principal names in a way that violates the Kerberos 5 protocol specification. In _krb5_extract_ticket() the KDC-REP service name must be obtained from the encrypted version stored in 'enc_part' instead of the unencrypted version stored in 'ticket'. Use of the unencrypted version provides an opportunity for successful server impersonation and other attacks. NOTE: this CVE is only for Heimdal and other products that embed Heimdal code; it does not apply to other instances in which this part of the Kerberos 5 protocol specification is violated.
CVE-2017-11130 1 Stashcat 1 Heinekingmedia 2024-08-05 N/A
An issue was discovered in heinekingmedia StashCat through 1.7.5 for Android, through 0.0.80w for Web, and through 0.0.86 for Desktop. The product's protocol only tries to ensure confidentiality. In the whole protocol, no integrity or authenticity checks are done. Therefore man-in-the-middle attackers can conduct replay attacks.
CVE-2017-10862 1 Really 1 Jwt-scala 2024-08-05 N/A
jwt-scala 1.2.2 and earlier fails to verify token signatures correctly which may lead to an attacker being able to pass specially crafted JWT data as a correctly signed token.
CVE-2017-9606 1 Infotecs 2 Vipnet Client, Vipnet Coordinator 2024-08-05 N/A
Infotecs ViPNet Client and Coordinator before 4.3.2-42442 allow local users to gain privileges by placing a Trojan horse ViPNet update file in the update folder. The attack succeeds because of incorrect folder permissions in conjunction with a lack of integrity and authenticity checks.
CVE-2017-3224 3 Quagga, Redhat, Suse 4 Quagga, Package Manager, Opensuse and 1 more 2024-08-05 N/A
Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol implementations may improperly determine Link State Advertisement (LSA) recency for LSAs with MaxSequenceNumber. According to RFC 2328 section 13.1, for two instances of the same LSA, recency is determined by first comparing sequence numbers, then checksums, and finally MaxAge. In a case where the sequence numbers are the same, the LSA with the larger checksum is considered more recent, and will not be flushed from the Link State Database (LSDB). Since the RFC does not explicitly state that the values of links carried by a LSA must be the same when prematurely aging a self-originating LSA with MaxSequenceNumber, it is possible in vulnerable OSPF implementations for an attacker to craft a LSA with MaxSequenceNumber and invalid links that will result in a larger checksum and thus a 'newer' LSA that will not be flushed from the LSDB. Propagation of the crafted LSA can result in the erasure or alteration of the routing tables of routers within the routing domain, creating a denial of service condition or the re-routing of traffic on the network. CVE-2017-3224 has been reserved for Quagga and downstream implementations (SUSE, openSUSE, and Red Hat packages).
CVE-2017-3198 1 Gigabyte 4 Gb-bsi7h-6500, Gb-bsi7h-6500 Firmware, Gb-bxi7-5775 and 1 more 2024-08-05 N/A
