Impact
The RapidLoad unusedcss plugin for WordPress has a missing authorization flaw that permits users to access privileged functions without proper authentication. The flaw arises from incorrectly configured access control checks, which means unprivileged users can invoke endpoints designed for administrators. This can lead to unauthorized data manipulation or other elevated‑privilege actions within the site.
Affected Systems
The vulnerability is found in Shakeeb Sadikeen RapidLoad plugin version 2.4.4 and all earlier releases. Any WordPress installation that has the plugin installed and is running a vulnerable version is affected.
Risk and Exploitability
The CVSS score of 4.3 indicates moderate impact. The EPSS score of less than 1% suggests the likelihood of exploitation is very low at present, and the issue is not listed in CISA KEV. However, the missing authorization could still be abused, especially in environments where the plugin pages are publicly accessible. Attackers could craft HTTP requests targeting the plugin’s privileged endpoints to perform unauthorized actions. Because the flaw does not require any additional credentials, the base attack vector is through the web interface.
