Impact
The LightLLM package up to version 1.2.0 offers a router profiler service that, when enabled, exposes an RPyC server without authentication and with pickle deserialization active. This configuration allows an attacker to send specially crafted serialized objects to the profiler command queue, which are executed on the host with the process permissions, leading to arbitrary code execution.
Affected Systems
ModelTC LightLLM is affected. Vulnerable releases include version 1.2.0 and any prior releases that still contain the unprotected profiler service.
Risk and Exploitability
The CVSS score of 9.3 classifies this vulnerability as critical. The EPSS score is not provided, and the vulnerability is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog. Attackers can exploit the flaw remotely by connecting to the RPyC server exposed when the --enable_profiling flag is used, sending malicious pickled payloads, and causing code to run with the service's privileges. Because authentication is missing, any network user with access to the service can carry out the attack.
