Impact
The vulnerability in SGLang v0.5.22 allows a client to terminate other users' ongoing generation requests by exploiting rid prefix matching. By sending a streaming /generate request with a single hex character rid and then dropping the connection, an attacker can trigger abort logic that scans for any rid starting with that prefix, thereby aborting all other requests. This results in a denial of service for affected users and disrupts service availability.
Affected Systems
SGLang (sgl-project) through version 0.5.22 is affected. All releases prior to 0.5.23 contain the flaw.
Risk and Exploitability
The CVSS score of 8.2 indicates high severity, while the EPSS score is not available, making it unclear how frequently this flaw is exploited in the wild. It is not listed in the CISA KEV catalog. Attackers can exploit the flaw by sending a crafted /generate request with a minimal rid (e.g., a single hex character) and immediately disconnecting. The abort logic has no authentication check on the rid, so any API client can trigger the denial of service if the endpoint is publicly reachable.
