CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
hwmon: (tps53679) Fix array access with zero-length block read
i2c_smbus_read_block_data() can return 0, indicating a zero-length
read. When this happens, tps53679_identify_chip() accesses buf[ret - 1]
which is buf[-1], reading one byte before the buffer on the stack.
Fix by changing the check from "ret < 0" to "ret <= 0", treating a
zero-length read as an error (-EIO), which prevents the out-of-bounds
array access.
Also fix a typo in the adjacent comment: "if present" instead of
duplicate "if". |
| Illustrator versions 29.8.6, 30.3 and earlier are affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to disclose sensitive information. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: nf_conntrack_h323: fix OOB read in decode_choice()
In decode_choice(), the boundary check before get_len() uses the
variable `len`, which is still 0 from its initialization at the top of
the function:
unsigned int type, ext, len = 0;
...
if (ext || (son->attr & OPEN)) {
BYTE_ALIGN(bs);
if (nf_h323_error_boundary(bs, len, 0)) /* len is 0 here */
return H323_ERROR_BOUND;
len = get_len(bs); /* OOB read */
When the bitstream is exactly consumed (bs->cur == bs->end), the check
nf_h323_error_boundary(bs, 0, 0) evaluates to (bs->cur + 0 > bs->end),
which is false. The subsequent get_len() call then dereferences
*bs->cur++, reading 1 byte past the end of the buffer. If that byte
has bit 7 set, get_len() reads a second byte as well.
This can be triggered remotely by sending a crafted Q.931 SETUP message
with a User-User Information Element containing exactly 2 bytes of
PER-encoded data ({0x08, 0x00}) to port 1720 through a firewall with
the nf_conntrack_h323 helper active. The decoder fully consumes the
PER buffer before reaching this code path, resulting in a 1-2 byte
heap-buffer-overflow read confirmed by AddressSanitizer.
Fix this by checking for 2 bytes (the maximum that get_len() may read)
instead of the uninitialized `len`. This matches the pattern used at
every other get_len() call site in the same file, where the caller
checks for 2 bytes of available data before calling get_len(). |
| In PHP versions 8.2.* before 8.2.31, 8.3.* before 8.3.31, 8.4.* before 8.4.21, and 8.5.* before 8.5.6, some functions, including urldecode(), pass signed char to ctype functions (like isxdigit()). On the systems with default signed char and optimized table-lookup ctype functions - such as NetBSD - this can lead to accessing array with negative offset, which can trigger a denial of service. |
| In PHP versions 8.2.* before 8.2.31, 8.3.* before 8.3.31, 8.4.* before 8.4.21, and 8.5.* before 8.5.6, the metaphone() function in ext/standard/metaphone.c uses a signed int variable to track the current position within the input string. If a string longer than 2,147,483,647 bytes is passed, a signed integer overflow occurs, resulting in undefined behavior. This can lead to an out-of-bounds read, causing a segmentation fault or access to unrelated memory, and may affect the availability of the PHP process. |
| In PHP versions 8.4.* before 8.4.21 and 8.5.* before 8.5.6, when an encoding name containing an embedded NUL byte is passed to mb_convert_encoding() or related mbstring functions, the code incorrectly assumes that when strncasecmp() returns 0 it means the strings have the same length. This can lead to out-of-bounds read of global memory, potentially causing a crash or information disclosure or crash. Affected functions include mb_convert_encoding(), mb_detect_encoding(), mb_convert_variables(), and mb_detect_order(), as well as the mbstring.detect_order and mbstring.http_output INI settings. |
| A heap-based out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the DNSSEC validation of dnsmasq allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted DNS packet. |
| In GStreamer through 1.26.1, the isomp4 plugin's qtdemux_parse_trak function may read past the end of a heap buffer while parsing an MP4 file, possibly leading to information disclosure. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i40e: Fix potential invalid access when MAC list is empty
list_first_entry() never returns NULL - if the list is empty, it still
returns a pointer to an invalid object, leading to potential invalid
memory access when dereferenced.
Fix this by using list_first_entry_or_null instead of list_first_entry. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iio: imu: bno055: fix OOB access of hw_xlate array
Fix a potential out-of-bounds array access of the hw_xlate array in
bno055.c.
In bno055_get_regmask(), hw_xlate was iterated over the length of the
vals array instead of the length of the hw_xlate array. In the case of
bno055_gyr_scale, the vals array is larger than the hw_xlate array,
so this could result in an out-of-bounds access. In practice, this
shouldn't happen though because a match should always be found which
breaks out of the for loop before it iterates beyond the end of the
hw_xlate array.
By adding a new hw_xlate_len field to the bno055_sysfs_attr, we can be
sure we are iterating over the correct length. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
comedi: pcl726: Prevent invalid irq number
The reproducer passed in an irq number(0x80008000) that was too large,
which triggered the oob.
Added an interrupt number check to prevent users from passing in an irq
number that was too large.
If `it->options[1]` is 31, then `1 << it->options[1]` is still invalid
because it shifts a 1-bit into the sign bit (which is UB in C).
Possible solutions include reducing the upper bound on the
`it->options[1]` value to 30 or lower, or using `1U << it->options[1]`.
The old code would just not attempt to request the IRQ if the
`options[1]` value were invalid. And it would still configure the
device without interrupts even if the call to `request_irq` returned an
error. So it would be better to combine this test with the test below. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: usb: asix_devices: Fix PHY address mask in MDIO bus initialization
Syzbot reported shift-out-of-bounds exception on MDIO bus initialization.
The PHY address should be masked to 5 bits (0-31). Without this
mask, invalid PHY addresses could be used, potentially causing issues
with MDIO bus operations.
Fix this by masking the PHY address with 0x1f (31 decimal) to ensure
it stays within the valid range. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: uvcvideo: Fix 1-byte out-of-bounds read in uvc_parse_format()
The buffer length check before calling uvc_parse_format() only ensured
that the buffer has at least 3 bytes (buflen > 2), buf the function
accesses buffer[3], requiring at least 4 bytes.
This can lead to an out-of-bounds read if the buffer has exactly 3 bytes.
Fix it by checking that the buffer has at least 4 bytes in
uvc_parse_format(). |

partitions: mac: fix handling of bogus partition table
Fix several issues in partition probing:
- The bailout for a bad partoffset must use put_dev_sector(), since the
preceding read_part_sector() succeeded.
- If the partition table claims a silly sector size like 0xfff bytes
(which results in partition table entries straddling sector boundaries),
bail out instead of accessing out-of-bounds memory.
- We must not assume that the partition table contains proper NUL
termination - use strnlen() and strncmp() instead of strlen() and
strcmp(). |

syzbot found that calling mr_mfc_uses_dev() for unres entries

alias to "struct sk_buff_head unresolved", which contain two pointers.
This code never worked, lets remove it.
