| Potential vulnerabilities have been identified in the system BIOS for certain HP PC products which may allow escalation of privileges and code execution. HP is releasing firmware updates to mitigate the potential vulnerabilities. |
| An optional feature of PCI MSI called "Multiple Message" allows a
device to use multiple consecutive interrupt vectors. Unlike for MSI-X,
the setting up of these consecutive vectors needs to happen all in one
go. In this handling an error path could be taken in different
situations, with or without a particular lock held. This error path
wrongly releases the lock even when it is not currently held.

| J2EE Misconfiguration: Data Transmission Without Encryption vulnerability in Apache NimBLE.
Improper handling of Pause Encryption procedure on Link Layer results in a previously encrypted connection being left in un-encrypted state allowing an eavesdropper to observe the remainder of the exchange.
This issue affects Apache NimBLE: through <= 1.8.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.9.0, which fixes the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Fix array-index-out-of-bounds in dml2/FCLKChangeSupport
[Why]
Potential out of bounds access in dml2_calculate_rq_and_dlg_params()
because the value of out_lowest_state_idx used as an index for FCLKChangeSupport
array can be greater than 1.
[How]
Currently dml2 core specifies identical values for all FCLKChangeSupport
elements. Always use index 0 in the condition to avoid out of bounds access. |
| Amin Aliakbari, member of the AXIS OS Bug Bounty Program, has found a broken access control which would lead to less-privileged operator- and/or viewer accounts having more privileges than designed. The risk of exploitation is very low as it requires complex steps to execute, including knowing of account passwords and social engineering attacks in tricking the administrator to perform specific configurations on operator- and/or viewer-privileged accounts.
Axis has released patched AXIS OS a version for the highlighted flaw. Please refer to the Axis security advisory for more information and solution. |
| In x86's APIC (Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller) architecture,
error conditions are reported in a status register. Furthermore, the OS
can opt to receive an interrupt when a new error occurs.
It is possible to configure the error interrupt with an illegal vector,
which generates an error when an error interrupt is raised.
This case causes Xen to recurse through vlapic_error(). The recursion
itself is bounded; errors accumulate in the the status register and only
generate an interrupt when a new status bit becomes set.
However, the lock protecting this state in Xen will try to be taken
recursively, and deadlock. |
