Impact
The vulnerability allows manipulation of the t, c, and r arguments used by TBGlobal.GetToken in tubebuddymaster1.js. The insufficient verification of data authenticity enables an attacker to overwrite authentication tokens, potentially masquerading as a legitimate user and gaining unauthorized access to features of the TubeBuddy extension or the associated YouTube account.
Affected Systems
Ben Group TubeBuddy for YouTube Extension users running version 5.8.4 or earlier on the Chrome browser are susceptible to this token overwrite issue.
